Sweet potato fries are good, too. It's the shit they put on them, esp. those truly disgusting MARSHMALLOWS that makes sweet potatoes lame. They are also good when made fluffy in a blender with pumpkin pie spices.

Fry sauce is just ketchup + mayo. Some places might add a bit of cayenne or pickle juice, but most Idahoans just keep it simple with ketchup and mayonnaise.

Yup, the only thing fry sauce has in common with 1000 Island is the color. I, too, keep it simple with ketchup and mayo, but add a hint of lemon juice, a bit of sugar to tame the tartness of the lemon while keeping the brightness, a dash of salt, and you have the definitive, classic fry sauce. (Has to be real mayo, not dressing!)

#1 I want sooooooo much to hug Dolly!!! #2 Awesome accomodations! It's cozy, the decor is adorable & the bathroom even though I would be a little nervous in the middle of the night is very cool. They should have sour cream sented candles though lol. #3 Did I mention I love Dolly?

So cool to see this. I recall pulling over to photograph this potato few years ago when it was resting on the truck bed in front of a Motel 6 on the Oakland Embarcadero in California. Apparently the potato had appeared earlier that day as a float in our little local Alameda 4th of July parade.

That seed you pulled out was probably rosemary as rosemary is sometimes paired with potatoes. In fact, there is a dish called "Rosemary Potatoes". The only other thing I thought it could be was a caraway seed. I love caraway seeds in rye bread, but IDK if it would be good to use them in potato balls.

The original fry sauce from Top Spot in Utah is equal parts Miraclewhip, and ketchup. Dont eat mayo, thats just wrong. Miraclewhip, cause if you're going to eat whipped eggs, and grease, it better be flavored.
