Jacob, i was almost 6 years old when rudoloh premiered in 1964. I will be 62 on december 19th. I have watched rudolph the red bosed reindeer all or in part every single year since.

My brother Ken Locher died in October last year at 60 yrs old of various metastisized cancers, n he was the Halloween n Christmas king of Dearborn, Michigan, decorating so we'll it took him months after work to complete his displays n he was featured on Fox News Detroit for both holidays!!!! The Polar Express has creepy motion capture, yes. I wish someone could fix that, just that, because the atmosphere of that movie is one of the absolutely most amazing to me. I took my daughter years ago right after Christmas and in spite of the creepy faces and movement I swear I felt it had captured that strangely eerie but exciting feeling you get as a kid. I mean, Christmas is the craziest mixture of warm cocoa and snuggles and cold creepy Winter. And that movie managed to combine both.

I've never seen any of these movies except "A Christmas Story", which I'd never even heard of until I had already lived in OH for years. I was in my 40s, at least. What really surprises me is that there was no, "Home Alone"! Maybe they couldn't get the rights to use it. THAT was the most conspicuously absent movie given the other types of movies featured (none of which centered on Santa Claus, but which featured a main character dealing with some semblance of the real world.

Out of the top 25 Christmas movies I have seen 23. I am so proud. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, A Christmas Story and ELF are a must. Along with Scrooged, Arthur Christmas, A Muppet's Christmas Carol, Gremlins and of course Die Hard.

The Polar Express is great, I never really understood how people think the characters are creepy and the movie has bad 3d animation, I think most of everyone who says these things isn't actually refering to the look of the movie but how the characters move uncannily due to the entire movie being motion captured rather than animated like traditional 3D animation. One of my favorite Christmas movies is Batman Returns and also Nightmare Before Christmas, I really like unconventional Christmas movies.

The Muppets Christmas Carol n The Nightmare Before Christmas are two that I watch over n over along with Merry Christmas Charlie Brown n of course any version of Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol - the Alistair Sim one being the best next being the Reginald Owen one n the Muppets the best with Kermit the frog as Bob Cratchit, Miss Piggy as Emily Cratchit n Michael Caine as Scrooge himself.

I stayed there to see Limecreek Christmas with Garth narrating it and he stayed after to play for us. It was 99 I think. He did apologize at the gate for not being able to stay more afterwards because he had family in town.. actually waiting in the truck lol! I loved that and that place! :D
