We had a COSI up here in Toledo but it got changed to Imagination Station. It still has my favorite part (optical illusions/Mind Zone) but it just doesn’t feel the same in a way. At least I got to experience the Promedica bodies exhibit before it finished, which was really interesting due to me being in the mortuary field.

I grew up in Columbus. All of my memories are from the old COSI on the other side of downtown. It was right across the street from the very first Wendy’s. We would go there on a field trip every year during elementary school.

Jacob, love your videos. Thought I'd add a little history to your visit. The current location of COSI used to be Central High School. In 1984 the movie "Teachers" was filmed there. It starred Nick Nolte, JoBeth Williams, Ralph Macchio and Judd Hirsch. The high school closed in 1982 and opened as COSI in 1999. If you're ever in Marion, Ohio we have three unique museums. The newest Presidential Museum in the country the Warren G Harding presidential library, museum and home, Heritage Hall (Marion County history) featuring the Wyandot Popcorn Museum and the Huber Machinery Museum. We also have the largest monument to a president outside of washing DC. The Harding memorial and presidential tomb.

Destination suggestion: In Astoria, NY, there is the Museum of the Moving Image. It’s got tons of exhibits on various aspects of the filmmaking process and the history of film and television. However, I would check ahead to see if visitors are allowed to take videos for vlogs.

I grew up in Columbus and used to go to COSI all the time when I was a kid in the '60s and '70s. It was in a different location then, and much smaller than it is now. The current location is a former high school. It looks like they're using the same transparent bodies now that they had back then, and I always hated them because they were so creepy. The old pendulum is still there. There was also the old-timey town, but instead of shops for the mid-20th century, they were shops from the late 1800s and early 1900s. Among other things, there was a candle shop and a paper shop, where they had people inside showing you how they made candles and paper.

I remember going to Cosi probably in 5th or 6th grade. They had phones where you could see the person you're talking to and I thought oh that will never happen The invisible Man and the invisible woman actually talked they had their own little room. The boys were only allowed to see the invisible Man and the girls only the invisible girl we wouldn't want fifth or sixth graders to find out about those organs! It's nice to see there's still some things from the original Cosi still there. The building that it's in was Central high School which was one of the main high schools in Columbus Ohio my mother graduated from there. It was nice that they kept some of the original building when they moved Cosi there.

Glad you made it to Cosi! I haven't been there since the pandemic started but hoping to go soon, I usually like to go for the Cosi after Dark events they have once a month for adults. I'm interested in the Marvel exhibit and the Cuba exhibit looks cool too. I also recommend the Cincinnati Museum Center for other Ohio museums. They still were mid-renovation the last time I went, but the exhibits are very cool and the design of the building inspired the Hall of Justice. And the Newport Aquarium on the other side of the river is awesome as well.

There is a great little History museum on the Town square in Springfield Missouri on the northeast corner of the square. It is called the History Museum On The Square. I think you would really enjoy it it does all about the history of the town and the county dating back into the 1800s. There's also an art museum in Springfield at national and Bennett Street that is completely free.

Hot potato! I had that Spudzie game as a kid. I've been told, prior to the invent of plastic taters w/buzzing timers purchased at toy stores, kids just tossed around real hot potatoes; whoever was left holding it when time was up (counting out loud or utilizing clock, wristwatch, or stopwatch) was eliminated, with play continuing round-by-round until the last player remaining w/spud-in-hand won...and got to eat it. Similar to Mr. Potato Head: before toy companies created plastic potatoes, you used real ones and dressed them up with purchased face parts/accessories. So glad they didn't go this route with Cootie!

As far as smaller museums go, if you're ever in the Branson MO area again check out the Dewey Short Visitors Center! It's a great little FREE museum about the lake. I wasn't too happy about my own video of that place (on my other channel, not the account I'm commenting with) so looked up others after I was done...I was surprised to see that there weren't too many, & I actually liked my crappy video better than the others I saw. I'm still new at this, & frankly I'd like to see some people that know what they're doing video-wise vlog that place!
