7:40 Slight correction: That is the Batcycle made initially for the 1966 feature film adaptation of the Adam West TV series, and then subsequently used for said TV series after the movie left theaters. The TV show had its own variation of the Batcycle (which was used on loan and therefore got featured in only one episode, titled "Not Yet He Ain't"), with less visual flair and looking more like just a plain old motorcycle with some "bat" themed highlights whereas the feature film's increased studio budget allowed for more bodywork to be done for the Batcycle seen at this auto museum.

I was maybe five or six when I first went to the Volo auto muesem, specifically to see the Batmobile. I even dressed up in my Batman costume. So we were talking pictures, when the owner saw this, and offered to let me sit behind the wheel. Still one of my treasured childhood memories.

1:32 My best friend had that similar situation with divorced parents sadly. Except it was not a travel plaza oasis due to no toll roads in Tennessee. My friend dad's moved to Kentucky in the year 2000 at age 8 when his dad took a job offer in Lexington, the mom stayed in Louisiana. So his dad and him would drive from Lexington to Memphis, TN, meet his ex at a Walmart parking lot or a convenience store parking lot, hand my friend over to his ex, and his mom would drive him the rest of the way to Ruston, LA. Fortunately, my best friend and I don't have to worry about that anymore. We are adults now and in our early 30s, neither of his parents live in those states anymore. Mother lives in New Hampshire while the dad lives in eastern North Carolina. I think Northwest Airlines had a hub in Memphis, TN INTL Airport at one point which was very convenient for my best friend, direct one stop flight and change planes in Memphis before Delta merged with Northwest and closed the Memphis hub. So he could fly there that way then.

Lake Forest Oasis was open last time I was through there about a year ago... north of Gurnee I remember them fondly from family vacation trips between Milwaukee and Michigan (lower) ... Seem to remember another one in Michigan City near the Indiana border... But most importantly my recollections of the Oases always involved a HoJo's (Howard Johnson's) 😊

Or maybe you can make shelves that hold them to go around the top part if the walls. All love Jacob, I have your pin in my car so we can go on adventures together because that is a bucket list dream of mine to go on a dark ride or something with you ir be that plus one when you need it 😄

Very interresting video, but the "tank" 20:08 isnt a tank, but a german Armoured Personal Carrierer. Its a halftrack of the model Sd.Kfz. 251 Ausf. B (it could be a model A, but only 350 were made, so B is more likely. It could also be an old modified, Slovakian post war OT-810.) You can tell that its either a model A, B or C by how the rear doors bulge out (on the D theyre completely flat at an angle). The C has a different nose shape, which doesnt seem to be pressent. Nicknamed "Hanomag", a total of 15.000 were made durring the war, spread out on the 4 base models (A through D), and another 20 specilized variants

Ugh, that Titanic exhibit is full of very awful misinformation. - The view from the bridge there shows a full moon. In fact, there was no moon at all that night. Combined with the absolute darkness, the still as a milpond waters, and a thermal inversion prevented the lookouts and bridge crew from spotting the iceberg sooner. And the binoculars wouldn't have helped since they provide a very narrow view ahead. The standard practice was for lookouts to use their own eyes and then use the binoculars to identify the object, be a ship, iceberg, rocks, etc. - 44 lifeboats were NOT removed from Titanic. The Olympic-class was designed by Alexander Carlisle to have upwards of 60 lifeboats, but this was a notional only. The Board of Trade laws were outdated and Carlisle put in the Welin davits (which could take up to two lifeboats per station in anticipation of the laws being updated. The laws never were updated and so the boats weren't added. It's a myth that was done to make the view better, but in fact the davit design would've kept the view the same even with 40 boats in place. Lifeboats in those days were viewed not to evacuate all the ship's passengers and crew, but to shuttle them from the stricken vessel the rescue ship or ships. As it was, Olympic and Titanic had more boats on them than the law required with 14 large clinker-built boats, 2 emergency cutters, and four collapsibles for 20 total. The laws stipulated for a ship Titanic's size only 16 were required. In other words, White Star Line provided 25% more lifeboats when they didn't have to! - There were THREE lifeboat drills! The first was at Belfast prior to Titanic's delivery to Southampton, the second was at Southampton on the morning the Titanic was scheduled to sail, and third was when the ship was underway. Would've been four, but one was cancelled on the very day of the sinking on Sunday the 14th. No one knows exactly why it was cancelled. The two wireless operators were NOT crew! They were employees of the Marconi Wireless Company, and their job was to be there to provide the novelty service of sending passenger messages (for a fee) and to receive them. Jack Phillips and McBride were indeed busy with messages, mostly as a consequence of 6-hour backlog due to the main set breaking down and then the two men fixing it and getting it back up and running in violation their company's rules which stipulated for them to switch over to the weaker backup set. But whenever they could, they did send messages from other ships to the bridge, but in this case, they did miss sending some of the crucial final ice warnings to the bridge.
