We just tried it, best install ever and easier too.

Best instructions for Clek installation - even better than the manufacturer's. Thank you.

This was really helpful in installing into our Subaru outback, however I have just discovered that the clip to raise and lower the head rest is broken… Is this installation what did that, do you think? Does seem to put a good amount of pressure on the head rest...

The buckle appears to be in the outer slot..doesnt it have to be in the inner slot when rear facing? Thanks for clarifying and thanks for the video very clear and easy to follow

Can you explain why you only use one lock-off? The manual states both should be used. Thank you for the clear video!
@thecarseatlady18 жыл бұрын
This video was shot with the older lock-offs, where Clek recommended just using one. You must have the new version of the lock-offs, and you are correct that you should use both. I have also added this in the notes section - so thanks for reminding me to highlight this change.

First, I must say that your videos are the most helpful! I have mine installed on a leather seat, and it seems to wiggle and slide more than when I had it installed on a cloth seat no matter I hard I secure it. Is it typical? I also would like to use the middle seat, however, that seat belt is with an old style where it doesn't retract to engage with auto-lock. It has a clip on the seat belt for a manual adjust. Can I still use this kind of belt to install the carseat? By the way, I have a 2008 Nissan Xtrail. Lastly, I was wondering if you plan on making a video for forward-facing on this car seat. For forward facing car seat installation, what do I do when my car doesn't have the anchor on the back of the seat? Without anchoring in the back, would the carseat fall forward dangerously? Thank you so so much!! :)

I believe you are not in the US - and this video is for the US market. I do not know how your seat may be different from the one shown in the video. The foam under the leather can be stiffer than the foam under cloth seats - meaning you have to push harder to get a tight installation on leather seats. If you do not have a tether anchor, we would strongly advise keeping the child rear-facing as long as absolutely possible. If you are in Australia you may be able to get a tether anchor retrofitted. Please consult with a local expert with all future questions.

+The Car Seat Lady Thank you very much for answering my questions! I will try to re-install the car seat to make it more secure. Also, I should check with the car seat experts here. (Yes, you're right. I live in New Zealand, moved from the US a few months ago. I bought the car seat in US last year and brought it with me to this country.)

Will a Clek Fllo fit in a Honda Fit ? If placed behind the passenger seat, will there be any room for the passenger to slide his or her seat backwards?
@thecarseatlady19 жыл бұрын
+Mackenzie Mcilmail You'll likely need to remove the anti-rebound bar to allow the Fllo to sit more upright when rear-facing (which can be done so long as the child can sit upright unsupported) in order to have it take up less room into the front seat... and it should fit nicely. I'd also try it in the center - you may find it works really well there.

Did you use the latches, too with the seatbelt? Would that make the seat more secure?
@thecarseatlady17 жыл бұрын
No - you use one or the other (as stated in the manual). Using both does not make it more secure. We recommend using the seat belt for rear-facing Fllo as it installs very nicely in almost every car with the seat belt - and LATCH tends to be harder to get a tight installation with this seat rear-facing.

Thank you for your wonderful website and videos. I've just bought 3 Clek Fllos for my back seat (1 FF, 2 RF). Is it safe to add an angle adjuster (i.e. the Diono square foam angle adjuster) to gain a few inches between a RF Fllo and the front seats? Thank you.
@thecarseatlady18 жыл бұрын
+catherine saxbe You may NOT use a Diono angle adjuster on a Clek seat. The Diono angle adjuster is ONLY allowed to be used with Diono seats. You may however consider using the rear-facing Fllo without the anti-rebound bar as it will typically sit more upright and take up less room into the front seat when the anti-rebound bar is removed.

Can I install an older Foonf the same way? The install video by Clek is so unclear to me!
@thecarseatlady17 жыл бұрын
No - Foonf doesn't like pressure at the top of it. I find this to work best for rear-facing foonf on one of the side seats - kzbin.info/www/bejne/i3atm6NnjKaros0

do you suggest installing with seat belt instead of latch?

Hi there- I love your site & this video was very helpful, however I wonder why you recommend using only one lock off when the manual specifically references using both? This was very helpful though- the belly shimmy move in particular really helped get a tight install! Thanks.

How would I get, and install an anti-rebound bar for this? Thanks!
@thecarseatlady19 жыл бұрын
+Grneyedlady33 The anti-rebound bar (ARB) comes with this car seat. There are instructions that come with the seat - and they include how to attach the ARB to the car seat. Clek also has an online video manual and they show how to attach the ARB as well.

Should I use seat belt instead of latch or both?
@thecarseatlady19 жыл бұрын
+Nicole Roberts Please follow the exact instructions in this video. We recommend the seat belt installation as we find it much easier to get a tight installation with the rear-facing Fllo using the seat belt than the lower anchor strap.. You should never use the seat belt + lower anchor strap at the same time for this car seat or any other. The only 5-point harness car seats that allow seat belt + lower anchors at the same time are 2 seats that have rigid LATCH (not a lower anchor strap) - which are the Clek Foonf when forward-facing, and the Nuna Pipa base.

Why doesn't the seatbelt need to be locked?
@thecarseatlady19 жыл бұрын
+Zoopath The seat belt is locked - it is locked in the blue seat belt lock-off. This lock-off keeps the seat belt in a fixed length while you are driving, and then when you slam on the brakes the seat belt's own locking mechanism (emergency locking retractor) will take over and hold the seat during the crash. If you are concerned that the child in the car seat may play with the vehicle's shoulder belt, you are welcome to pull the shoulder belt all the way out and engage the seat belt's locking mode (automatic locking retractor) - but make sure this is the very last step of your installation.
@topaz8209 жыл бұрын
+The Car Seat Lady we've been engaging the locking mode first then using the blue tabs. I guess we have some reinstalling to do.
