The flesh is all those things that we desire that are not directed toward God and are more than we really need to live in this world. The problem is people have a hard time distinguishing between their wants and their needs and, deceiving themselves, will redefine the former into the latter. That includes things like big dream homes with marble countertops and industrial ovens, second homes, expensive land yachts (SUVS etc), expensive recreations and entertainments, lavish vacations and ocean cruises, celebrity-following and idolizing, big bank accounts and financial assets, fine dining, etc. The churches and their CEO pastors generally do little, if anything, to discourage these things.
