Like most bands, they have singalong sections in some of their songs where they tell the audience what to sing. No, Attila Dorn NEVER loses power in his deep low register! His voice is instantly recognizable in today's Metal, and, along with their tastefully chosen "gimmick", goes a long way to manifesting the identity of POWERWOLF. Yes, they are always energetic, and yeah, they are always having some dark (sarcastic) fun. :] But take them easy at own peril - for you lose that soul before you know! \m/ 9:45 You ask what they do live? Well, they sound just as good... and they use flamethrowers on stage to prove the point! This band is the real deal as far as unbridled fun goes! For another of their wonderful videos that tell a story, try "Fire and Forgive" - deals, appropriately, with exorcism. Hmmm. Or rather just listen to their classic "Bible of the Beast" album, and tell us what you think. A veritable joyride for this listener.

Attila Dorn has a great gritty rock voice, but then he can change to a clean opera sounding voice. He definitely has power in droves. They really have some great songs, like Armada Strigoi, Sacred and Wild, Amen And Attack and a really deep cut, but one of my favorites, is called Extam Et Oratum. I have been waiting for you to do a Powerwolf song since the vocals are really the star of their music. Attila also has a really good range. SPOILER WARNING: Many people believe that he is Romanian and trained in opera in Romania, but that’s a story they created, just like their names aren’t really Matthew and Charles Greywolf, though those are great names. Their real names are: Karlsten Brill - Attila Dorn Benjamin Buss- Matthew Greywolf David Vogt - Charles Greywolf Christian Jost - Falk Maria Schlegel Roel van Helden - No Alias Yes, Matthew and Charles are not actually brothers. Everything about them is theatrical, even their backstories. Attila or Karston is actually German and never trained opera in Romania, but that doesn’t diminish the fact that he has a Powerwolf and can sing really well. That makes it convincing that he has been classically trained. SPOILER: they’re really not werewolves either, sorry to break that.

I've seen them live when they came to Brazil right before the 2020 stuff. It was ABSOLUTELY STUNNING. Their performance is SO MUCH FUN. So energetic. Probably one of my favorite live acts to date.

I just recently discovered this band myself while diving down a "KZbin recommendations" rabbit hole one evening, properly epic stuff that's right up my alley and I remember thinking to myself I'd love to see Elizabeth do a breakdown of one of their songs.. and as if by magic, here it is!! I look forward to seeing more of them here and perhaps even some Battle Beast and Majestica too in the future!

Thanks Elizabeth. I am a music lover, though I’ve never seen anyone who loves music as much a you do, it makes each analysis so great. I think you’d enjoy the band Orphans of Dusk. They share some traits with Type O Negative, but also include harsh vocals and death metal influence, and just contain so much emotion and expression.

Would absolutely love to see you do more Powerwolf. They're amazing and so fun. Atilla has some incredible vocals, and I feel like this song doesn't do him justice. Love your work!

Some 4 years ago I was at festival and Powerwolf was one of those to-be-checked-if-possible bands, had heard few songs from em. Was chilling/cooling down from last gig nearby as they started playing at tent stage, in one of their first songs was heard by ear, wait is this a Marilyn Monroe cover? Started listening more closely, didn't catch the tone and lyrics were bit off... On second verse got it, it is Demons Are A Girl's Best Friend, not Diamonds. Made sense.

Yeeeeees PowerWolf is one of my favorite bands and I'm really excited to see you get in to them. Edit: Theres so many songs of theirs I could recommend. But I'll stick to a few with music videos: We Drink Your Blood, Amen and Attack, Fire and Forgive, and Beast of Gevudan (this last one is really fun with the real world history behind it, the version in french is really well done).

I'm loving all the metal analysis - if you're looking for other metal bands to check out, I strongly recommend giving Kaunaz Dagaz by Brothers of Metal a listen!

I have seen so many Brothers of Metal requests but she won't do it. She will do 10 Nightwish tunes but no BOM. Ylva Eriksson is second to none.

@@tonysarrio8940 she's probably just busy? Makes sense to do a lot of Nightwish, they've been active like 30 years and still manage to remain at the forefront of the metal scene. Be patient, she'll get to it eventually

I kept meaning to pick some Powerwolf up, you tipped me over the ege. So glad they're on Napalm, you get that awesome Bandcamp instant gratification of purchasing.

I think you don't know that the vocal of Powerwolf was a opera singer once. That's why he is so good in both the high pitch and low pitch vocal.

so many songs are getting recommended, do yourself a favor, start with the first album, and listen through the discography... So much fun the time will fly.

The fact that he can sing that high with that power is mindblowing for me

They are amazing at writing in a way of lot of metal has lost, strong verse which sets a story, great hook, then big sing along chorus, an unbeatable formula. Doesn’t hurt that they have almost a mythology that runs through their music, and a little singing in Latin, giving it an extra dramatic element. Listen to Blessed and Possessed, the album, Armata Strigoi is an amazing example as is the title track. These guys are the perfect example of what Metal can be at its best.

The young girl is the woman at a younger age and as you can see from the doll that turns into a kind of Chucky doll, she has had a connection to the dead/demons/whatever from a young age - and now is the time to fulfill/embrace that connection. That's my take, anyway.

You need to do their song called Let There Be night his operatic Talent really shows through in that song and he sings in an ancient attilic language
