Landing short in a back tuck is a common problem many athletes face. The direction of the back tuck can be a huge contributor to back tuck problems.
Undercutting the tuck is not as common but the mechanics for both landing short and undercutting can overlap and in this video we break down an undercut tuck (think "gainer") and demonstrate some easy drills to reinforce proper direction for the back tuck!
If you do not have access to a wedge mat, you can also use a folded panel mat to work on the last exercise. Start with it folded high enough that you can land safely and then as you progress, unfold one panel at a time.
