This was a really amazing video. I love how it was one of the first things that made me fall in love with chess. It was also impressive how you discovered this game from an opening at the age of 10.

A treasure trove of a position. I was analyzing it with stockfish and I was struck by the beauty even of some of some of the alternatives of Qg6. In that same position Qxe6 and Rh3 are alternatives similarly strong (Rh3 less so) with incredible sidelines. Truly a diamond shining in all directions.

2:35 does it actually defend though? Nxe4, Nxe4, d5 forks white's bishop and knight while protected by the queen and I don't see a way out. I guess Bd3 so after the knight is captured you win the pawn back

Hey Zach, I have a question for you as a person who learns the London system. Basically what do I do against blacks response 1...e5 against my 1...d4?
@fealesstree4458
@fealesstree4458 2 жыл бұрын
Takes. Its better. Just be careful about some traps, but if you play correcly, then white will be better
@wonderoft2c421
@wonderoft2c421 2 жыл бұрын
@@fealesstree4458 But what will I do after taking? I always get confused after, because the d4 pawn is a vital pawn in London, and I feel like I just have a huge open file after capturing e5 pawn.
@fealesstree4458
@fealesstree4458 2 жыл бұрын
@@wonderoft2c421 I understand you. If you take, you're playing the Englund Gambit; a opening. Usually, black will do Knight c6. Then you can do Knight f3. Black does Queen e7. I don't remember what you should do after, but I remember that Bishop f4 isn't a good move. You can use the Stockfish on Lichess to study a little bit about this opening. If you face so many 1...e5's against your 1. d4, this could be good
@wonderoft2c421

@@fealesstree4458 Do I understand right that if my opponent plays e5 against me and he doesn't play any england gambit move after that then I should maybe abandon London system idea and focus on developing as the rules suggest?
