Lyrics:
Who doesn't know what I'm talking about
Who's never left home, who's never struck out
To find a dream and a life of their own
A place in the clouds, a foundation of stone
Many precede and many will follow
A young girl's dream no longer hollow
It takes the shape of a place out west
But what it holds for her, she hasn't yet guessed
She needs wide open spaces
Room to make her big mistakes
She needs new faces
She knows the high stakes

I'm a 56 yrs. African American woman from Chicago and have been The Chicks fan for years. They have talent to burn and they also possess the big 3, Heart, Minds and Soouuul (a little Soul Train reference) . The only reason I put the previous statistics about myself on this comment is so that the Girls know that they reach far and wide. There is a reason why they are still standing, despite or maybe because of all they been through. The 3 of them are not just supremely gifted artists, they are also damn fine humans and astoundingly giving world citizens. You can't beat that with a stick. #TheChicksfanforlife

The strength and courage that these ladies showed when the whole country music world turned their backs on them. Especially the other two sticking beside their bandmate Natalie and standing in unison to the world with no regrets or sorrow for what was said. They gained a tremendous amount of respect from me with the way they handled it all... The documentary about the backlash that they faced is really good too...

I'd don't feel sorry for them one bit. they had a right to their opinion, but they were tone deaf to their audience. They're in an industry that leans VERY heavily right and made a brash statement. But instead of saying "ok, I read the room wrong" they doubled down and gave the middle finger to their fans and decided to keep going. Then they got hammered for it it's like a punk band or rage against the machine telling their fans that they need to obey any authority. It was simply tone deaf and brought upon by themselves. Know thy audience. Simply put, they made a bad business decision and had to live with the consequences

Some friends of mine knew her and we drove down to meet with her and several other friends. She poured out her soul and told a story about the background of several of her songs as she introduced them. What a talent! Her songs touch the very fabric of everyday Americans and I'm a new fan.
