Some suggestions form an "Old Dino Rider" (11Echo / 19Echo... 14 Years & 19Kilo 6 Years) 1) For Lubing the Support Rollers on the M48/M60 Series... There is a Half Moon Cut on the Bottom, Backside of the Support Roller. Feel for "Fresh Grease!" I also recommend putting a large cup or a Rag under the Relief Zert.... Clean-up is much easier! 2) I would recommend 2 Grill Door Bolts (one upper, one lower on the outer door... 17:28min) "Shit Happens & you "Don't" want a flapping Grill Door on the Move! AND 3) Replacing the Track Pads is just a "PAIN in the A..." There is no easy way, but if that's all you've got... I would Break one side of the Track & lay it out with the "Old Girl on the back half of the Track.... Get a Hydraulic Impact Wrench & loosen all the Pads & remove the Nuts... Move the Tank forward & repeat on the back half. Put the Tack back on & remove all the old Track Pads, put on the New Pads and tighten them down. To me, it was faster to Break Track and lay it out again and then tighten all the bolts to the Pads & again replace the Track. Repeat on the other side! Sounds Stupid until you "throw a pad through a moving Car Window!" TANKS for the Memories! GOD Bless All Our Vets, Past & Present! Freedom is NEVER Free!

Sorry to inform you but at 8:30 the person describing neutral and pivot steer in the Leopard 1 is wrong. As a Leopard tank mechanic instructor, pivot steer is when the tracks counter rotate when the transmission is shifted into the "PIVOT" position on the shifter and the steering yoke is turned in either direction. Neutral steer is accomplished when the transmission is in "NEUTRAL" and you turn the yoke in either direction and only one track moves.

As long it is balanced it is possible. The hardest part is the beginning when fighting momentum and static friction. Unlike lifting something, you aren't fighting gravity. Well technically you kind of are, the weight do increase friction, but turrets are designed with that in mind, so its not as hard as one would imagine.

I've heard the Home Remedy of using Pepper in Radiators, as well. Although, I've never tried it, or looked into it any further than just hearsay.
@gullreefclub5 жыл бұрын
Ground Black Pepper of a medium to slightly finer grind will with sufficient quantity temporarily stop up a small radiator leak if only water is in the system and the radiator cap is only half on (radiator is not under pressure). The pepper will if the pepper flakes are the right size will swell and stop up the hole in the radiator. If you try this technique you will need a 8 or more ounces of pepper depending on the size of your cooling system. It is best to mix the pepper with warm water just before you add it to the radiator while the engine is hot and thermostat is open or has been removed from the cooling system. Additionally if you see a pepper crustsickle where the pin hole leak in the radiator was do not touch or disturb it otherwise it will start leaking again. Also the leak will not stop instantly or permanently and may continue to weep. The use of ground black pepper is at best a temporary fix and once a proper permanent fix is being done you need to flush the other residual pepper from the engine block / heater core and or rest of the cooling system. I have tried it with mixed success but it certainly worth trying before pinching off radiator tube when you are out in the middle of nowhere and I have never tried it on a engine with Aluminium cylinder heads or engine block. In other words if you try it do so at your own risk.

Egg 🥚 in the radiator will sort the leak 👍🏻
@gullreefclub5 жыл бұрын
If the coolants leak is fairly small a couple of egg whites may temporarily seal a small radiator leak. The egg white will congeal and cook sealing the small radiator leak. If you try leave the radiator half on because you don’t want the cooling system to build pressure and blow the bits of cooked egg white sealing the hole out and obviously don’t touch or remove any part of the cooked egg white sticking out of the pinhole in the radiator. It goes without saying only do this to your own vehicle if you are desperate and are willing to incurr any possible damage of the cooked egg white in your cooling system, heater core, engine, hoses etc
