I remember watching a video, several years ago where a Belgian museum official told the story of getting this vehicle back from Vienna.

So I have a technical question you are probably uniquely qualified to get the answer for. I was in the 11th ACR from 79 to 82 and from 87-90.I encountered German heavy Reconnaissance cars numerous times on the border and on Reforger and at Graf. The German modern Reconnaissance Cars were almost silent when they moved. The engines were heavily muffled so when the were driving they were completely quiet. Were WWll German Reconnaissance Cars also this quiet? Perhaps you can find one in a museum and get us a tour of one? Perhaps you can arrange to inspect and drive one? I served on M113s and Bradley's, the Bradley's in particular you could hear from miles away. So your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to make us some videos on German Reconnaissance Cars. In my opinion, American Reconnaissance Vehicles were almost always loud. The HMMWV being the exception to the rule. Perhaps you can shed some light on German Reconnaissance Vehicle design theories and the Vehicles they created? Thanks!

You’re a very brave man to squeeze into that contraption…sitting in a museum. I can’t imagine being either of the two men crammed in there as they tried to make war!

Did the Chinese army actually use the tank in combat? I'm trying to imagine how that would have turned out and whether there was any role at all where it would have been useful to them, the thinly armored and undergunned Japanese tanks it would have faced notwithstanding. Could it even resist small arms fire?

The M72 LAW, or, by the Finnish army designation, 66 KES 75 (66 for 66mm, KES for KErtaSinko, meaning "single use rocket launcher" and 75 being the year of adoption), was the standard infantry anti-tank weapon when I did my conscription in the early 90's. Never got to fire a live one (though I saw them fired) but carried empty ones around in the woods and fired a few practice rockets. There was also a Finnish built training device that had a short barrel with a simple lock mechanism built inside and fired a pistol cartridge with a tracer bullet and loaded to approximate the tajectory of a live rocket.

Speaking about the King Tiger vs Greyhound engagement...I believe something did happen because there is no reason for a random soldier from another unit to fabricate a story. However, there was a running joke in the ETO that every German tank was identified as a "Tiger." It's a well-established fact that enemy tank identification was not a high priority during training for American GI's. If I had to make a guess, the little Greyhound probably took out an older Panzer II or III. But as you said, we'll never know.

1:03...Hmm? Good question. Looking @ the original Sentinel manual here, seen on the VERY back/last page, it refers to 'that hole' as something a person might PEE DOWN. (But in seeing the totally WEIRD Australian lexicon employed, using a word I cant seem to properly pronounce & I certainly dont mean to offendeth anybody, guess Ill have to interpret as being such?...-Australian 'Bikies' & MotorArmorHeadz doubly so) Said best used to either cool the crew off in dire &/or !FIRE! circumstances, or to properly PISS them off in equal measure? (It says to make good n' sure the hatches are locked down tight from the <<outside>> w/ALL the 'tank-keys' before attempting such a 'Practical Joke/Junk' oriented stunt...:) Apparently whomever designed that neat-O FeatureFault sat directly next to the giggling guy who'd designed the circumcised Hull/Bow machine gun mount?

Well, they had to add length for the fourth wheel, maybe they just added some tread until they got to what they needed. Then the tension would come into play for those last few segments, along with vibration.

I kind of wonder why we wouldn't have ammo stockpiled for some of these older weapons. What about Red Dawn? Are our kids going to have to fight them off with ceremonial shots? I think we should keep some 75mm Shrapnel rounds around just in case. 🤠 90mm is still a good gun!
