I love this cover, it really amplifies how the souls are feeling with each part of this confront. Amy and Rouge sound desolate, they lack the hope to ever return to their original state. Ray and Tails sound hopeful, even through they're dead, it feels like they still wanna fight back, specially when you consider they're still holding onto their weapons. Meanwhile, Sonic and Mighty just really both sound like they have gone insane, and constantly making fun of the Starved Duo. In the first half of the song, Eggman and Maria sound like they have begun an argument, and as the song progresses, it feels like they're getting angrier and angrier with each other, to the point where they bring both Neo Furnace and Shadow to help them with their opponent.

I think it's funny to consider it canon that mobians just taste addictively delicious for anyone to the point that the person goes insane with hunger. It happened with eggman, then Sonic became starved in a fan comic, and now we got the grand daughter. I don't know the lore, but I assume that Shadow got injured one day and some of his blood got in Maria's mouth, and now we're here.

I’m not familiar with starved Maria. I’m guessing the context is “Maria survived the ARK and the only way she could have survived to leave earth and come to Sonic’s world was to eat Shadow and Gerald? Or it’s the same context as the original story except it’s an alternate universe where Dr. Eggman was stuck on the ark and Maria was somehow teleported to Sonic’s world?”

Not familiar either, but based on shadow's appearance, here is my head cannon: Shadow manage to evacuate alongside María from the Ark, however, the gun solider that shot maria made his shows but Shadow blocked the bullet, however, it damage severely his eye. Their escape pod crash landed on earth, on a snowy mountain, they both freeze, entering in a cryo sleep that kept them both alive and shadow from bleeding to death. Time passed, Maria was the first on recover conciseness, as the ice began to melt, however, she immediately enter in a panic as shadow was still out and bleeding out. She did her best to cure him, but ofcourse, some of the blood ended up on her lips, that was the catalyst, she felt the flavor, so addicting.. she thought about eating shadow, it was too easy... But she couldn't, Shadow save her life after all... But his eye was severely damage anyway, so she served her little snack while shadow regain his senses. Shadow was... Shock at first considering Maria just eat his freaking eye off, but as she apologized, she explained that some of shadow's blood ende up on her mouth and the taste overpowered her.. she felt like she wanted to eat more and couldn't help herself to eating his eye.. Shadow try to hold his sanity through the explanation, but quickly shift the blame on the humans for forcing this mess on the first place. After that shadow just accepted to be Maria's hunter and began to bring her his own kind as meals. That's the best I can to with what little i know of starved maria.
