It's so important that she won this round with this song because in South Korea, rock is one of the less popular genres and in a way a sort of ostracized genre of music in the country. this is INCREDIBLE!!! i hope everyone understands what a difficult song overdose is, since most of the vocal parts are a kind of a mix between singing and talking in a low tone, so it’s amazing she was able to turn it into something this melodious that also suits her female tone. and the genre change! as much as i love overdose it relies a lot on its trendy hip hop/electronic production, it’s so cool to hear it in such a raw musical form. fantastic job!!!

There are excellent singers in this gen, but Siyeon is absolutely fantastic, she can handle whatever they throw at her and make it even better. Ppl say it's about the genre (rock) and that may have a part in it, but seems like Korea just doesn't like strong, confident young women like DC, producing quality. They prefer the obedient, cutesy 20yrs olds that are running in superminis and acting as 10.. Messed up..

An artist can easily make high notes, but it is useless if you try to imitate other artists and your voice does not adapt to other genres. Siyeon you're so unique and versatile, you made you own song without trying to imitate others.

@Tulip In fact Jiu, a member of DC, who has a voice is very soft and low tone, in my opinion, on Immortal Song 2 she showed that she can make high notes, was a surprise for us. Even Dami, DC's main rapper, can make high tones. So any rapper, lead or main vocalist can make high tones, but not everyone can make their voice adapt to all genres, a good vocalist is the one with voice control, from high to low notes, making own the song, without trying to break the vocal cords.

It isn't a bad thing and it doesn't mean the singer can't sing. (Coming from a music producer) It's just polish on top of what should already be good

There's a slight amount of sonic artifacts when she switches from the lower note to the higher note. If you know what to look for, the jump from the lower note is too clean for a normal voice to do. Also, her power wavers a bit at 2:42 but her note doesn't move at all meaning that there's software helping her output vocal. It's hard to explain but she definitely struggled A BIT to hit that and so her note should suffer slightly but it doesn't. There's also an electronic tinge to her audio around there which isn't vocal effects (or the backing vocals as those are in a higher register than her main vocals so they don't clash). At 2:48 is the most obvious for me as she runs up and down. The way she hits each note definitely has electronic assistance. Vocal runs are one of the most difficult aspects of singing and take so so much time to get good at. It's not humanly possible to hit all the notes she did in as short a time as she did as cleanly as she did. Aside from the possibility of it, you can actually hear the autotune kicking in when she does the run and then stop when she holds the lower note confidently. Even the king of vocal runs Do Kyungsoo wouldn't be able to hit that cleanly. OH yeah you're right, 2:07 does have some slight pitch correction. But the most obvious ones are generally when the vocals push their voices for runs or high notes and that's when voices tend to fail especially with nerves/rushed warmups/bad days. And that's when the autotune kicks in to save them. So that's when I take more notice I guess. End of the day, she still did a great job. What she managed is hard even with the small assistance she had. But you can tell when a vocal is live / has autotune by the small (sometimes microscopic) imperfections of their voice that you can't polish out live unless you have autotune (like in this case).

The other contestants did a very good job too but vocalist should be versatile too they can try other genres too since most of their performances are purely ballads which is bland if listening it continuously...
