Liverpool were very good this year, no doubt, considering the injuries they've had. But context matters. 1. They got dumped out the FA cup by a diabolical United team. 2. They got spanked at home by Atalanta and knocked out the QF of the Europa league, which they really should have won . And, 3. On top of those two things, they only won 3 of their final 8 games of the prem season. That's exactly the same as Arsenal last year when they capitulated. Considering these, I don't think an A grade is justified. B maybe

They challenged for all four trophies, actually won a trophy unlike arsenal. Got the highest point total in premier league history for 3rd place. Lost in europe to the team that went to win the whole competition. Got knocked out by rivals for the fa cup, and said team is competing in the final. Plus won the league cup with teenagers! A C grade is an egregious evaluation on Liverpool.

They have the best defence in the league, they won 16 of their last 18 games, they have by far the best record against the top 6 and they finished on 89 points. People forget only Luton and Brighton have spent less than Everton over the last 3 seasons and most of their squad comes from that period of time. Been selling all their best players and getting by on frees, loans and bargains. Everyone still thinks they've got loads of players signed for stupid fees but they're all gone, Everton's squad was bought for peanuts in comparison to a lot of other teams in the bottom half. Makes it even more impressive what Dyche has done.

From being on for a quadruple to winning only the Carabao Cup, there is more disappointment at Liverpool than happiness, whereas there is more happiness than disappointment at Arsenal. Both are on the end of a B or an A, but I’d edge Arsenal an A and Liverpool a B. Most people had Liverpool winning the league at the halfway point and Arsenal out of the race in December, only one team went to the final day.

Maybe Spurs look better to end the season if those two fixtures stay in place.

These guys didn't have Liverpool finishing top 4 at the start of the season. They've ended the season losing less PL games than Arsenal, having competed in all 4 comps until April despite being riddled with injuries, including winning a final with academy players. The end of season collapse was actually more accurate to where this transitional side is and was shown last year, which lost Hendo Milner Fabhino and Firminio. We didn't sign our targets like Jude or Caicedo and made do with Endo, whilst losing talisman Salah to Afcon and injury for a significant part of the season. I understand how the end doesn't feel great, but objectively from the start of the season it's a success. B grade minimum.

At the start of the season Liverpool were not expected to be in a title race, especially after last season, nevermind on for a quad at one point.Rebuilding an entire midfield then horrendous injury list coming to the mid-back end of the season, surely a bit harsh?

Liverpool and Arsenal both had an A season in my book. Liverpool coming back from the horrors of last season with major senior players going out of the club and failing to sign a ‘proper’ dm in the summer but Klopp somehow successfully rebuilt the midfield and spearheaded a three horse race. Arsenal didn’t fall apart in March/April like they usually do and took the race to the last game, which is a huge improvement in mentality and dominance
