Antony is far from hitting levels to get to player of the year level, but he is definitely so far away from biggest flop. He has great technique, and is unfazed against so many big teams and has done very well in tight spaces when it matters. Yes his finishing can be much better, and his final third output can be more developed. But he is young, and he'll get there one day. For a raw talent, he already has such excellent qualities for a technical side to play the way it wants to. and he operates and functions so well with the task given to him. If that is a flop, people just dont understand football.

I agree with a lot of things said, hard to argue, Mudryk has really struggled in the limited time we've seen him and with just the fundamentals but I did watch him for Shakhtar in UCL and he was unreal so I believe there's something in there. Not to mention that maybe there's some concerns/worries weighing on his mind for family back him in Ukraine. Zinchenko has been unbelievable so props to him for being able to kill it through it all. Kalvin Phillips has barely played for Man City despite costing 45 million Richarlison hasn't scored one league goal and most of Spurs signings have been fairly poor Chelsea have a whole host of flops. Koulibaly and Cucurella have been dreadful. Sterling hasn't been great and it's too soon to properly judge Mudryk Nunez has necessarily matched expectations but he definitely isn't flop material since he's looking to hit 15 goals all comps unless he gets very bad luck with injuries. Say what you will but Chelsea have destroyed so many footballers who would shine in other environments. Mudryk, Havertz, Ziyech are all exceptional players who would be key players in other environments. Too many "star" players under one roof and you had a soft manager who would never be able to set a straight line for any of them. That is just equal chaos which Chelsea is. The Ukrainian league is the equivalent of the SPFL in terms of general quality but he played well in the UCL so there's a lot of talent there, I just don't think he's as good as some people think he is.

United fan here and honestly, i think Antony is a contender. I do think it's a shame though. IF you saw him play for Ajax, you know there is a really good player in there. Not just him but i can imagine how it might feel if a club way overspends for you and suddenly everyone has much higher expectations for you. Antony isnt worth anywhere close to how much he was bought for. Hoping that overtime, his confidence is built up. Even then, i dont think he will ever be world class but i think he could be around about Nani's level.

I really don't understand what happened to him ? I remember I've seen him at the champions League against Dortmund and he was fire. Was active, dynamic, ran at players trying to beat them, tried to cross the ball for haller to score goals. He doesn't do any of it now and I really don't know why....

Antony is not a flop I believe he can add goals and assist nest season and also we can see with him in the pitch team plays well because he holds the line and all and he is also good at tracking back

Richarlison isn't the biggest flop - he had a World Cup moment that will be remembered for decades while Antony did nothing for Brazil in the WC AND played poorly for ManU. Nobody used the "humans make mistakes" excuse for Darwin Nuñez, so it shouldn't be used for any of these Wingers.

The Antony hatred is just another example of English fans being so limited with tactical acumen they don't get it. Because 'winger doesn't hug line and cross' they assume he does nothing. What he does: - Fantastic defensive work-rate - Keeps defenders on their toes as he CAN go outside and has. So it's never a 100% certainty - Provides actual width to make up for Rashford cutting in from the left - Immaculate close-control creates good passing triangles on the right. - A very decent goal return for someone making the step-up from the Erdevisie. If he cost 30 mill, nobody would bat an eyelid. Also, I know The Club is about clickbait and getting views and they all have a 'gimmick', but Buvey's footballing knowledge is actually shocking. I doubt he could name anything that happened before 2000, and his over the top hyperbolic nonsense just gets kinda tiring after a while.

Antony is very good at keeping the ball, has scored some big goals for United and he's got a bit of a nasty streak to him which I love. He's not a flop. If you want to argue he's underwhelming, I can see that. He doesn't seem to have the kind of afterburner pace you'd expect from winners and he seems to terrified of his right foot. Those are issues. He actually reminds me a bit of Sancho. Sancho isn't that quick either. People thought he was quick because of the counter attacking runs he made at Dortmund but when it comes to taking a player on and running past them, both Sancho and Antony struggle. Antony can do it a bit more but even when he skins a player, he ends up turning back to his left foot, allowing the defender to get back at him.

Every player gets one year immune to scrutiny (or hype) outside of EXTRAODINARY performances (postively or negatively). To do otherwise is just inane. If played who started poorly were written off.. we'd have missed out on some of the best players this league has ever seen - in every position. Likewise if you lose your head over players who started well and ended up being bang average.

I think Adam has a point about then Chelsea environment being poor. But look at Felix for example, even when he wasn't scoring or assisting, he was still getting involved and you could see why he was bought for 100 by athletico. His silky skills and touches. Mudryck doesn't even look like he can make a good pass or shot. Regardless of how the team plays around you, he still can't even make a simple one two with anyone or make a good run.
