If Mount leaves, that’s because he wants to. He refuses to accept the same sort of long term contract that his teammates are accepting. There’s no reason why he should be treated differently. He’s not THAT good.

With Mount it’s down to contract length over salary, he doesn’t want a contract that dictates his prime years even though his preference would be to stay with us. If we were to loose him though I would be disappointed because he contributed a lot to that UCL in 20/21 but we’ve lost better players and still carried on winning and not to add Felix & Nkunku are arguably upgrades on Mount on a ability and technical standpoint…

Couldn’t have said it better myself, I’d say Nkunku and Felix are far superior to Mount technically though Mounts workrate and dogged determination is hard to replace. However we haven’t seen those qualities at all from Mount this season so it’s hard to justify giving him a big new deal, especially considering we have Gallagher who does that role to perhaps an even higher level though isn’t as technical as Mount

IMO, Mount should be given slightly higher than the last offer and allowed to do a 6 year deal like James instead of 8, then he can stay. I don't see the point of not giving him 190k on a 6 year deal and let deadwood like pulishit and ziyech leave immediately. These guys have been earning double what Mount earns and done nothing. Mount earning slightly higher than what Chelsea want in his prime years given he was underpaid for at least 2-3 years makes sense.

Speaking as a Chelsea fan, letting Mount go will be far from a disaster. If we need his profile, we literally have Gallagher who is younger and offers the same key attributes. He would thrive in the Liverpool Midfield; I'd rather let him go there and fulfill his potential than for us to keep him here (despite him not suiting Potter's style) because we're scared of what he'll become. We should instead be focused on how we can replace him with a better player (of which many exist) and how we can build a team such that Liverpool aren't able to compete with us and therefore selling Mount to them doesn't bite us in the ass

Putting on chalobah wasn’t the problem and he didn’t lose his man he needs to watch that again chalobah noticed that there was a free man where Reece or RLC should be (if Reece is pushing up RLC needs to be in his position) so he’s covering that guy way before the initial ball was played and so koulibaly has to cover the player that trev was initially covering. The real problem with the play was Carney not running hard to close down the pass if he did that everyone is in the right positions.

Chelsea’s big spending has already backfired on them they spend £600m on players this season & they are sitting 12th & they are only 10 points from the relegation spots & they have no silverware. If Chelsea lose 4 games out of their last 6 games & every team from 13th-18th win them games Chrlsea will be gone relegated. Chelsea still have to play Arsenal Man City Man Utd & Newcastle as well. If Chelsea get relegated who wouldn’t be up for grabs with relegation release clauses the Chelsea owner will be in big trouble. Chelsea fans must be bricking it & praying like they never have.
