That’s I think because they’re both such fun actors. Jen Aniston has chemistry with every comedic actor I feel like and Perry was just born amazing, of course! So you just could never go wrong with the two of them together!! 👏 They’re my second favorite comedic pairing in the show with the first being Chandler and Joey!!

Totally agree with you about the mom. The episode you are talking about is the funeral one. I think its TOW Grandma dies twice? I dont remember the name for sure. Her mother complains of the same thing she does to Monica, and she seems to realize for a second. I think there’s also the fact that Ross was their miracle child and very academically accomplished, overshadowing her. I do like her relationship with her dad a lot though 💖

One of the best bloopers to be left in the show happened in that first episode, where Chandler was handcuffed to the filing cabinet and pulled his hand and got hit in the back of the head that was actual hit shock on his face, and Jennifer Aniston, hiding her shock with her hands 🤣👏🏼👏🏼

So in case you were wondering, how Monica (a chef, who was then unemployed for most of season 2, then a dancing chef?) and Rachel (previously a coffeehouse waitress) could afford their apartment, which would easily cost in the $2-3K a month range back then, this episode does actually explain it. The answer is "rent control" - basically, Monica's (and Ross's) grandmother had a deal where she could pay the same rent price her whole life without it going up (probably under $500/month, maybe even half that). But of course, she didn't actually live there, which made it illegal.
