Helen, when I was your age, I read a lot of self-help books. I was still living at home, feeling trapped because I couldn’t get a real job after school and living with an abusive mother. Life is about surviving and remember to enjoy life. Life is good.

Saying no is hard, but it’s also telling people that you have a vision and have set boundaries for your business and your team. The challenge is how do you convey that in a respectful manner, but also demonstrating that you are confident in the direction you are going . It also tell clients and customers not to cross those boundaries and being unrealistic about their requests, which can turn into unsolicited advice. I think you’re doing a great job on saying no, and that practice takes time! You’re a great business woman, and it shows in such a giant clientele that you have :) Have a great day! - Bella

@TheCoffeeMonsterzCo I have decided to try out the Hobonichi Weeks this year and am really loving it. I also have a new TN that I use for mind mapping and visioning and a separate planner for a more expanded monthly and weekly view.

OM GOSH... brilliant.. I never noticed you moved the page over when you do sunday's to keep your wrist on the page. This is a brilliant trick!! I use my cell phone or another notebook under my hand for the bottom of the pages.. never thought about the side! Going to have to try that out.

Yesss iti's the only way I can write properly haha. I used to find a notebook of a similar width to rest my wrist on but it kept on sliding around >.

Glad you mentioned taking care of yourself. That is such a great message! Love you running sticker and that you love running. I find walking works best for me, but that would be a fun sticker for power walking. Your plan with me videos are motivational, love how you can plan by the hour. I am finding that hourly schedules, daily lists, and time-blocking might not work for me. Some other methods I have seen on KZbin , for example, on Living Like Leila channel she did a video called a week of pomodoros, PetuniaRose has a video called building a routine am and pm tasks, where around 7 minutes into the video she talks about am and pm tasks and theme days, JashiiCorrin has a self-care bingo video. I have seen people use a weekly list with different categories of tasks. Maybe some people are just not planners and only need a monthly calendar. Marie Poulin has a video called Notion for journaling and tracking where she mentions having a win the week or win the day task. I am trying to find a productivity method or planner that will work for me.

So happy to hear this was an easier week for you! Saying no is not easy, but is so so necessary for one's health. I am often astonished at how many requests for products appear in the posts. It must feel a bit overwhelming. Please do whatever you need to do to maintain your sanity and your creativity. Not only do you need to feel comfortable saying something is not possible at the moment, but we all need to be ok hearing you say it! 🤗❤🤗

haven't even finished watching the video yet but i'm proud of you for setting boundaries! there's nothing bratty about it, and it's healthy. saying "i'm sorry but that request would take too much of my time" is a good thing - are you being paid for this time with the money the customer has spent? or would this be "unpaid" work? don't feel guilty for prioritizing yourself sometimes!
@TheCoffeeMonsterzCo Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much!!! I have a catastrophic mindset so when I feel like I say "no" to a customer, I jump to the conclusion that my business will fail completely.... so trying to get out of that haha. Of course will always go the extra mile but setting boundaries too!

I love watching your videos and am in awe of your ability to letter and doodle. I wish I was half as talented as you are. I was very happy to hear that you have been able to say no to more things lately and it sound like doing so has been good for you. You are coming across in your video as happier and lighter. I hope that things continue to be well for you as you set boundaries for work/customer related things and spend more time doing things for you and your self care needs.

It took me a long time to realize that it's ok to say "NO!" I, like you would always want to make everyone else happy and forget about the one person that mattered and that was me. So I would end up doing more than normal because I thought i was doing the right thing. WELL, I was NOT! So now, if it's NO its NO! People had a hard time getting used to me telling them NO. But for my own mental health, TOO BAD. Like you say, not in a mean way but in a necessary way!

@@TheCoffeeMonsterzCo pick up the garden type gloves from Dollar Tree, Dollarama, Daiso or Canadian Tire. Pick up several pair. That's were I buy mine. Until you pick some up put on a thicker type lotion on your hands. Wait a few minutes then you can put on regular nitrile gloves. Your hands will feel a little sweaty but this will help prevent the nicks you get. Cardboard and paper dry your hands out. If you have access... by the Avon silicone gloves lotion. Nothing beats it. I used this when I worked as a medical assistant and in food services to protect my hands Glad to hear you are practicing No. Just remember No is a full sentence. It requires no explanation. Self preservation is important💕 Being from the Northwest here, Nordstroms the customer is always right never sat well with me. It wasn't until my 40s that I learned to say No.

Something that you should definitely incorporate into your life is a cutoff time for work. It seems like you only sleep 4-6 hours a night consistently. Making an effort to not work past 6pm and not stay up past 10pm-12am would be healthy habits to incorporate. No amount of money and success is worth sacrificing your health and life for. At this point in life, it seems like you live and exist for TCMC. It should be the other way around.
