Play geyser into cornucopia for a ton of mana on each turn. Then play some counterspells to keep it in play! (or just don't all the mana, but a reasonable amount after other spells.

Neko-Te could be a good 'reasonable upgrade' as well. It gives both pseudo-removal to Nivmizzle by letting him permanently tap creatures he damages, and effectively doubles the damage he deals to opponents.

Fun fact, I recently built a Yidris, Malestrom wanderer wizard tribal deck and included the Niv Mizzet/Deathtouch combo in it thinking that I was pretty clever and that no one had thought of it before hand lol but I was wrong 😏. I still have yet to actually try it out though but I think it'll be hilarious when it happens cause no one will see it coming 😆. Anyways though, I love your channel and one day I wouldn't mind trying to build an actual Niv Mizzet deck.

I recently rebuilt and upgraded my Niv-Firemind deck and included a dragon tribal sub theme by using scourge of valkas and it adds a nice wrinkle to the deck.

Would you say its safe to just include a locust god in the deck? Or to include a Niv In my locust god deck I already have? Lol. I have the firemind as one of my creatures already but not parun. Thinking it's worth grabbing a copy. Then if I ever want I can just switch the 2 commanders and pretty much play either with the same basic deck and plan

They are very similar, except this deck more focuses on playing and copying instant and sorcery spells...It wouldn’t be wrong to include locust god in here, or vice versa. I personally have built his locust god budget deck, but added some pieces of my own collection to it such as Niv Mizzet Parun and Jin Gitaxis

I see no problem with vice versa. The whole point of playing magic is to build decks in a new and creative way. I personally put him in my niv edh but you could make the argumemt not to. I say buy him because from my experience, every time i have played niv unanswered it has won the game.

Having both Nivs in the same deck is a good idea. They not only work well together, they also give you the ability to adjust to different playgroups right before you start playing. Against counter/instant heavy groups, Praun can come in much easier and take advantage of your opponent's spell slinging. Meanwhile, against more creature-centric/aggresive decks, Firemind can replace the commander slot to allow more flexibility with its mana cost and potentially come out quicker(plus, his built in draw ability means you can save yourself a draw spell for later while still pinging off an important 1/1).

Yes and yes. I've got both Niv's and Locust God in my Jhoria Weatherlight Captain deck and they are just insane. And I've added Locust God too my daughter's Niv deck. So much with the wow.

Psychic corrosion and Rise from the tides are amazing alternate win conditions. You can also have reliquary tower to have an infinite hand size, making psychosis crawler a 60/60 if you want

I feel like Crackling Drake has a place in here too, with all the instants/sorceries in play plus it's draw effect when it comes in. Also with all the discard effects, Fraying Sanity can also really hurt someone too probably, especially when paired with Psychic Corrosion.

Surprised you didn't add Locust God as a reasonable upgrade. My group likes to do two headed giant games for EDH and my partner used Nekusar, which I had Locust God and Mindmoil out in my Niz-Mizzet deck on top of drawing 5 cards per turn and had so many tokens while doing a ton of damage. Also had a game where I had Swarm Intelligence out and played Fateful Showdown and dealt like 80 damage. I recently thought about putting deathtouch on him and now I just thought about curiosity because of this video.

I noticed that a big problem with my Niv mizzet deck is not getting enough Mana out fast enough. So I'm hoping putting in cards that give me treasures can help. Also. I switched up my commander. It's still a Niv mizzet deck but my commander is the Royal Scions because it costs 3 to cast and gives me an extra draw each turn. That is way more valuable

I have a different version of this deck that is more cantrip focused but it is meant for one on one (not 1v1, even though it is capable for it), this build is still really interesting, the only thing I would say is if you run the reasonable upgrades that puts your hand to the bottom, really think twice before running alhammarret’s archive, just my thought process.
