For the people thinking about building this deck (I play a non-budget version of this deck and absolutely love it): Gond Gate is your absolute first go-to when fetching Gates. Gates not coming in tapped is *huge* when so many of them do. Be careful with too many extra land cards though, it's very easy to use way too many of your lands and be stuck with duds. I love this Commander so much though and it's so nice to see it made here. 💖

Would you be willing to share a decklist? I've been brewing this deck but can't get something that feels right. There's that new black gate from LOTR set and I like Cultivator Colossus

I just took a peek, just made a 9-fingers deck for budget night. $75 yours is… a bit more 😆

@@Just-a-Canuck a lot of that comes from specific prints, in the paper version that I own, I don't have all these specific prints, just whatever I can get my hands on

I love this commander, BUT I play at a small locals. There are not alot of players and my friend saw that my deck was pretty succesful. He was building Omnath at the time and generally loves Landfall (basically all of his decks are secretly landfall). So he thought including gates was a good idea and he plays it this way ever since. Since he finished his deck, I have never played this deck again, because having two decks on a small locals with the same specific wincon is extremely boring. Especially because people have build up frustration for his deck because it basically accomplishes nothing except wasting alot of time with cascade and having mazes end after like 10 turns. I haven't played this deck once in like the past 12 months, so I decided last week to sell mine. It's kind of sad because my deck focused more on equiping this commander with alot of stuff. Gates were just a secondary wincon.

The Black Gate from Tales of Middle Earth would be great in this deck, makes Nine-Fingers unblockable by the person with the most life or tied for most, and its another gate!

Built this deck as soon as I pulled the Alt Art Nine-Fingers. She's my Favorite commander to run when im not looking to play hard, but not looking to go full kitchen table

Holy hell I've been making this deck for a week trying to tweak it. Although he is the secret commander. Using Garth one eye for all the gates

Always good input with these vids, I do wish you would slow down a tiny bit when reading just bc your words become jumbled up lol. Excellent suggestion on cards for this commander tho!

With 'The Black Gate', such makes 13 gates, and there's also Vesuva and Moritte of the Frost. If you got a bigger budget... ... Crucible of Worlds and Scapeshift are also pretty good. I also added Archelos (Lagoon Mystic) to the 99, along with Damia, Muldrotha, and a couple other legends, including Garruk Wildspeaker for untapping lands. Nine-Fingers Keene ended up being what I built instead of Kadena (Slinking Sorcerer), because Sultai is usually pretty dull for me.

My friend runs 9 fingers. He calls it Exodia the forbidden one.

In any Maze's End build, there is no reason to play Thespian's Stage/Vesuva UNLESS you plan on copying Maze's End itself (which is fairly mana intensive). The clause "10 gates of DIFFERENT NAMES" is usually overlooked.
@ThaLegend4711 ай бұрын
Keene requires 9 gates only, that’s why they are here. Don’t need diff names either

Currently in the process of making 9 fingers. Definitely given me some ideas. Also for an idea how about archelos lagoon mystic so the gatea come in untapped. Be a nice secondary commander

Rancor and Brawn and Conclave Sledge Captain are good options for more trample. Sledge Captain also does some power multiplication. Familiar Ground isn't really budget, but will make Keene unlockable and tramplers more effective.

A gate deck not having access to WUBRG isn't very appealing. You can't even play all the gates.
