Shame to hear you didn't like Five hundred year diary, in my first game with this deck, Sarah jane had already made like 9 clue tokens, so i tapped five hundred year diary for 9 blue mana then untapped it using sonic screwdriver then tapped for 9 more blue mana... I kinda like it.

The deck has multiple ways of making multiple token Drs because of the 6th. - 6th doctor cloning doctors - romana duplicating tokes created by the 6th - ian cloning the sage city of death (for a few turn after the first it lets you copy a nonsage token)

Gallifrey Stands works awesome with the Doctor that creates nonlegendary token copies of the other Doctors! You can win with 13 Doctors with just the precon - and it was such a sweet victory …

I went for a Second Doctor/Leela pairing built around giving Leela evasion, protecting her, adding more +1/+1 counters, and benefiting from the extra card draw on both sides. I don't expect it to be very powerful, but I do think it will be fun to bring to the table.

The 7th Doctor with Ace as the companion is also an amazing way to play the deck out of the box. Clue Generation, Cheating out big cards from hand AND creature removal all in the Command Zone? Really good stuff. Combined it with some cards from the MotM Artifact Precon to make a super solid EDH deck

Doesn't seem like anyone has pointed this out, but Caves of Androzani puts two stun counters on each of the target creatures, so there would still be stun counters to add on your next turn. I still think War of the Last Alliance is better because it actively progresses your game plan.

People sleep on the second doctor, but he does work. The lure of card draw is very real and in my experience people rarely ever turn it down (until I'm the only opponent left)

I wish they used more artifact/legendary lands in the mana base so that you could better take advantage of the 4th doctor's ability, for example replacing the thriving with the three artifact dual lands, and it wouldn't be hard to replace with the monocolor artifact lands as well, maybe replacing the horizon lands as nice of a reprint as they were, but they can even just replace the basics.

3ed Doctor is incredibly good with Sarah Jane Smith right out of the box! Been playing 1v1 with my roommate who has a VERY strong deck and regularly win by just making a ton of clue tokens, making the 3ed doctor a 12/12 with trample and winning with the various ways of making him unblock-able or just trampling. Its counter able, but since the 3ed Doctor is boosted by just having non creature tokens, even if he's removed and replayed for 6, he still comes back as a 12/12 with trample.

​@@yujentong2946 I imagine it might be that the deck doesn't really generate a ton of tokens normally and, on the surface, it feels like you would need the 4th or 6th Doctors to be really making the sort of token gen that the 3ed would need... But Sarah Jane Smith does SO MUCH WORK if you just get her out on turn two and just let your clues stack! 3ed comes out turn 4 as a 5/5 with trample and just keeps steadily growing turn by turn in a way that is very hard to stop since killing him doesn't do anything, but up his fairly low replay cost and give you yet another pair of tokens when you play him, make a clue and then make a second token with him. Then you throw in stuff like the Sonic Screwdriver or even Bessie, the Doctors Roadster which EVERYONE recommends cutting, but you leave that in and the third can use it to VERY easily do 20 commander damage once he's gotten buffed up a bit! Its maybe not the fastest strategy in the world, but feels like such a better set up then spending 50$ on wildly powerful legends to try and make the 4th Doctor kinda work. Last night I played a game with my roommate and ended up getting the 6th doctor into Romana II, then played Hero's Blade, got 4 copies of it (base - 6th clone - 2x Romana's cloning the tokens) and then next turn played commander for the third time, he comes into play with +10/+10 from tokens ( the cloned heros blades counted as they are non creature tokens), auto equips the 4 hero's blades, gets +12/+8 from them and then next turn swings in as a 22/18 with trample doing commander damage... Oh ya and I also made 3 clones of the 3ed doctor who where 'just' 12/12's with trample, so weak... This was like... turn 8 and even though my roommate had built a pretty impressive food monster board of trample 6/6s that where SUPER sticking and ready to pop off into the unstoppable range, she just got bulldozed by a turn 9: 58 trample damage in coming. The deck can do some wild stuff! Its not lighting fast, it might not stand up to top tier decks, but it can be super fun and surprisingly powerful if you just spend a bit of time playing with the cards and coming up with ideas rather then just going, "Well this looks like the best card... Might as well figure out how to tear this deck apart to make it work optimally."

I played this one straight out of the box last night for the first time. We all board wiped early a few times because a couple of the players had stuff that made a lot of creatures. I was able to stay in the game long enough to kick Five Doctors and the Displaced Dinos already on the battlefield made them all 7/7 Dinos too. Two rounds later, the game was over. It was a really long game though.

Just reading through the comments this seems like the most flexible of the commander precons. You have 3-4 of the Doctors that are legitimately good to run as commanders and multiple companions to run with them. You could have multiple ways to play. This seems way more flexible than Timey Wimey or the other Dr Who decks.

The Third Doctor and Tegan Jovanka make a awesome stompy commander damage pair. Trample, +1/+1 for each non creature token combined with indestructible and another +1/+1 whenever he attacks.

I think a fun pairing would be the Third Doctor and Tegan Jovanka, he gets bigger for noncreature tokens, and when you attack she makes a attacking historic creature bigger and indestructible. Seems like a good combat pair.

I bought this deck just because I love doctor who , but some of the cards are actually fantastic for an artifact deck. City of the death is one my favourites being able to create 5 tokens pairs up with cards that duplicate that ability means you can gain 50 tokens easy in 5 turns.

I think Gallifrey Stands was treated a little unfairly here. You don't need to go for the win trigger, it still puts a Doctor onto the battlefield for free. Doctors are historic and follow the gameplay, so you could import a few extra doctors from the other precons and use GS as a value engine.

We all agree The Sixth Doctor packs the biggest punch. Pairing it with Peri Brown which allows you to convoke the first historic spell can help with the heavy mana that the deck requires. Add a couple of flash enablers and you are IN BUSINESS. For extra bitterness add a Shalai and BOOM all your board and you have hexproof.

I bought this deck and have had a ton of fun playing the Sixth Doctor with Peri Brown (the companion that lets you convoke 1 historic spell per turn). The only cards I put in have been Doubling Season and Gandalf the White and it’s hilarious to create so many copies of your spells (I got 8 sol rings one game and 3 of the alien that comes in with a bunch of 1/1 fliers) so i would definitely recommend it

51:25 - Actually this card could work for the case where you play The Sixth Doctor with Romana II in commander zone, but it's expensive. Step 1 - play The Sixth Doctor Step 2 - play Romana II and let The Sixth Doctor copy the companion, because it's historical Step 3 - Play Gallifrey Stands (to be safe, multiplicate it) Step 4 - Additionally to each Doc put by enchantment, summon extra Doc and multiplicate it (1st time with commander, 2nd time with both Romana IIs) In step 4 you pay for 1 Doc while 2 enter the battlefield and get 5 Docs. Kinda expensive, but it works. And it can works better ig you swap Romana II with Clare Oswald from Paradox Power precon. Moreover, it's straightforward and easier to copy tokens which are going to be a lot of them, and most of them are going to be Docs. Moreover, The Five Doctors allows to play at the eleventh hour 5 of them if you're short in time to meet requirements of Gallifrey Stands. Even to make it a bit easier, play Twice Upon a Time. But as I've wrote, expensive way. It can work, and depends on various things. ... But I guess at the time as I write the comment this strat became somewhat obvious and barely used way to win due to mana costs.

I think all the Doctor Who precons are cool, but I'd rank them in descending order of power as: 1 - Paradox Power, the synergies seem to make it the most consistent out of the box, 2 - Masters of Evil, so many good cards, good curve, mid to high power on the curve, 3 - Timey-Wimey, fun deck, love the design of the Tenth Doctor, but I feel it needs some serious upgrades to hit the consistency of the first two decks I've mentioned, 4 - Blast from the Past, so fun, can steal some games, but with 8 doctors doing different things, it's not cohesive, but contains so many good options to build multiple decks from.

Blast from the Past has had an incredible time popping off and getting the board flooded with legendary creatures, but Paradox Power really struggles to close the game. Out of all four decks, it’s the only one I’ve never been able to win with.

I have been looking for a commander that makes tokens out of things that aren't supposed to be tokens for so long, especially in Bant. So Sixth doctor together with Romana II makes some stupid board states, and overall the doctor isn't necessarily needed for the deck to run; Romana is basically the one who helps you double up and get more tokens and make it really hum. Creating tokens out of Three Blind Mice and City of the Dead also makes things go way out of hand, no matter what tokens you put out there. Making a goofy amount of Trostani, Selesnya's Voice is probably amongst the most frustrating outcomes as they can help multiply one another and gives you health each time you do it.

Galifrey Stands, to me, feels like a teaser for a potential deck with ALL of the Doctors included. With just 1 more color, it can be done (You need R/G/W/U)...so I've a feeling we'll be getting either a Doctor with 3 colors (14th or 15th) or a 2 color Partner in a Secret Lair or something 🤷‍♂️

the third doctor is the best commander from this precon, I would pair him with Clara Oswald and name black, then you get sultai and its super powerful. but for this precon, go with the fifth doctor and Susan, I think they are the best pair in this recon. Clara isn't in here and yeah.. this isn't Sultai so... but the third doctor and Sarah Jane Smith work too. it might not be the most flavourful, but I think Alistair is fantastic, he just does what you want to do, but without flavour.

25:10 incorrect, I am never disappointed when the good reprints are lands. I love playing mediocre or even bad cards, but playing bad lands physically hurts and I cry everytime I brew a deck and then go to check the price on the lands and realize its $70+ for the landbase and I have to start swapping them

EDIT: This was a pick, but somehow I missed it. Weird. I’m kinda surprised y’all didn’t suggest Raff Capashen. 2WU for a flash-flier who gives your historic spells flash? Seems perfect for this deck. You know what’s better than getting a free copy off the Sixth Doctor each of your turns? Why, getting one every turn at instant speed, of course! Your opponent attacking in with a creature too big to block? Flash in a Heroes Podium, and suddenly that 8/8 Sisterhood of Karn doesn’t look so scary. Want to hold up mana for interaction, but you also don’t want to miss your chance to play your Tardis so you can attack in next turn? Easy, just wait to play it until the end step before your turn, and if your opponent plays an Auton Soldier you need to get rid of, you don’t need to worry!

Thanks for getting this out there! Please do rest your voices, we don't you to get hurt making this show. I'm kind of surprised you missed the synergy between the Seventh Doctor and Ace. He makes artifacts for Ace to sac and beef up. With all the other ways to make artifact tokens in this deck, especially if you're keeping the Fourth Doctor and Sarah Jane Smith as the Commanders, Ace can build up pretty solidly. Plus, it just feels wrong to cut out a Doctor from the deck explicitly about the Doctors. Personally, I'd have taken out something like The Five Doctors and/or Twice Upon a Time instead. Both are fairly expensive and would work better in other decks.

i love sarah. i love making clues asap with one and a white. get her out and start playing rocks and beaters. theres so many fun things to do with clues. so fun. the guy thats power and toughness get buffed by noncreature tokens is a better commander in my opinion. clue maker turn two, the. big chonky dude 3 to 4 turns later after like 5 to 6 tokens enter so he gets huge. plus he makes treasure when he enters if you need. so neat

I played with the upgrades yesterday. The addition of Urza and Jaheira was too much for my opponents. I had the Brigadier out making soldiers like crazy and using the tokens for mana. Once I attacked with the Brigadier I tapped 8 tokens and added +12/+12 to all my attacking creatures. I wiped out an opponent with 84 life. It was glorious.
