As a child, (mainly because of the The Kane Chronicles, Spirit Animals series, and the Warior cats books that I was using to learn English), I always liked cats and even tried to mimic some of the behaviors. However, that does not mean that I am a cat or wild feline. I just like the idea of hanging out with them to study their behaviors. I had a friend like this in elementary school. She would wear cat ears and hiss and scratch people. We all read the warrior cat books and each had our own “cat persona”. It was fun to me! I always had an active mind and childish role play seemed harmless. Once we got to middle school, her and my other friends joined the art classes and created their own fursonas. I chose band, and we grew apart. 8 years later, and I believe she is now transitioning to being a male, but still identifies with the furry community. I pray for her occasionally. Hope she’s ok, and I thank God that band saved me.

When I was 13 (now 21), I believed that I was a wolf therian and lived life based on that belief, and I ended up getting a therian symbol tattooed on my chest. Now I am planning on getting that tattoo covered up. My experience with it, and looking back on how I felt at the time, I can say it was more so of an escape from reality and that I was living in a fantasy world. You can believe what you want, but it doesn't make it real.

Ive been in art since 5th grade and i feel even more distant with my fellow artists. Yeah its just more a hobby for fun really. The talent people have in the furry community is outstanding. I think we all make up a persona for online, or day dream about cool characters in our heads. Its fun being something you are not for a change outside normal everyday life. Video games and shows also provide that escape. As for the Therian stuff, I have no idea... just seems odd? I use to pretend I was a werewolf when I was young... because I thought it was cool. But I grew out of it and now see it as an art form to make up creatures. It takes talent to bring a character you thought up and present them to the world. But just outright rejecting you are human.. acting like you are an animal? ... just what?

Brett is one of my favorite youtuber and I'm kind of a furry but I'm more of a scalie (I have a Dino mask) but I'm NOT a therian, I knew one and she said she believed she spiritually connected as a wolf but its against my beliefs as a Christian. I'm just interested in making my oc's and bringing them into real life as a way to express myself, and I've always loved animals and I think they are adorable. MOST OF the furry/scalie Is against Zo0phil3s and think they are gross. I don't get those ppl. Zoo's are sick minded freaks.

My husband and I were accidentally at a furrycon while on vacation last year! 😂 They had an event in a conference room at a museum we were visiting. We were so confused while we were walking in with all those people wearing costumes. People and companies have tried to mass produce them, but you simply can't have quality like that. Some suits having lighting built in, faces, some even speakers and digital displays! Fursuit making is a very tedious and painstaking job, but also allows people to start their own small businesses, here in America, taking commissions, and contributing to the economy while having a job that brings them great joy and fills them with purpose.
