Usually when you do a rebrand you announce it by doing the rebrand. You don't typically have to tell people that you're doing a rebrand. All she did was take her colorful bedazzled brand and trade all the colors out for black. That's not a 180° rebrand, that's going from Lisa Frank to Lisa Frank Noir. If she really wanted to go 180 she should have gone for earth tones and taken out the sparkles and gone total folk music. Lol

Spot on. I would imagine after being one thing her entire life it would be really difficult to actually "rebrand" herself unless she hired someone to do it. The dancing is the same, the energy is the same, the clothing is the same just now it's black. She's put glitter and paint on her face forever. Not to mention her voice is not suited for this type of song. It sounds like a kid trying to be an adult, besides the fact that the lyrics just don't match the lifestyle she's portrayed for 15 years. Her image was super clean for so long so that kids could have someone to look up to and now she's trying to get everyone to shift their perspective that after two or so years of her trying to grow up a bit that a song like this is supposed to be believable coming from her? It just doesn't work.

Her mom has been using her since she was born. Jessalyn dyed that child's hair blonde from the time she was 1 and a half years old. There's film of her literally dyeing Jojo's hair and she's so so little. I don't think that's even healthy for a little child, all those chemicals because jessalyn was desperate for Jojo to have white blond hair. She looks better with her natural brown hair. I am wondering just how much of what Jojo is is even her own fault since she's been groomed since emerging from the womb.

The part that made me feel bad for her was when she said she was uncomfortable with the lyrics to the song because she isn’t a bad girl… This means either the direction this “rebrand” went was imposed on her by someone else, or that she thought that this was the only way you can go about growing up in the public eye. There’s a clip of her on launch day saying “How many titties am I gonna need to get out??“ to a crowded room of people… I thought that was so obnoxious, a completely inappropriate thing to say. But now I can see that she’s just trying to perform this out of control bad girl persona even though it’s completely counter to her self. That’s really sad.

I honestly believe that in a few years time, we'll probably look at this rebrand very, very differently. Some of the shit she says is funny, and she is grating to listen to, but I can't help but wonder if we're laughing at yet another child star losing her marbles. Then come a few years, and we'll be horrified at anyone who "didn't see the obvious signs". Jojo Siwa has been a child star all her life. She started dancing when she was TWO YEARS OLD. Two! Dancing in revealing outfits for the eyes of ADULTS. That's how she grew up. I saw a comment on here saying she gives "home-schooled and sheltered" and I get what they mean, lol - but let's be honest. This is the opposite of sheltered. Her body has been objectified and commodified since she was a toddler. She's been the cash cow of her parents since before she could say her ABC's. Very, very few people grow up like that. She may have been protected and sheltered in some ways, but what she went through is not normal, and she was not protected or sheltered from that harm. She has a long, public history of being "friends" with adults that are either emotionally or sexually abusive - Colleen Ballinger. The iconic but ultimately terribly verbally abusive Abby Lee Miller, James Charles. She staunchly endorses these people to this day, claiming they've done nothing wrong. It's not weird to me that she cannot open Pandoras box there. To unpack that Colleen Ballinger did do something wrong means you have to unpack that she was also exploiting you, because that friendship shouldn't have happened, and the (PUBLIC) footage of the sexually charged conversations you had with that person wasn't just funny banter... because you were a child. She's got a big ego, saying all that stuff about inventing Gay-pop, and how what she's doing is incredibly revolutionary. That can be true, at the same time as its true that we might be watching someone spiral. It's shit we've seen before, from other child actors and performers. It's not new.

@@KyleALarkinsidk, I feel like you have your nostalgia glasses on because a lot of child stars didn’t adjust well. A lot of child stars had a hard time in early adulthood because the industry messed them up. So many were doing drugs/alcohol including Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber, Demi Lovato, Miley Cyrus, Britney Spears, Lindsey Lohan. That’s just substance abuse, so many developed EDs and have complicated relationships with their looks. Compared to how others came out I feel like JoJo is doing okay. Her “I’m a bad girl now” is cringy but so was Miley twerking in a nude swimsuit. Let her be weird, it’s a phase and hopefully she’ll come out of it and be a better person.

@@adamlambboy8332Well said. Its a historical fact at this point that Hollywood destroys young people. It shouldn't have taken 20, 30, 40, 100....still going....lives to be destroyed for people to see it, but here we are.

@@adamlambboy8332 I grew up acting with these child stars; they’re not all the messes you claim they are. Many go on to live normal lives, they just don’t make the headlines since that’s not interesting. So, perhaps you’re just reading what’s conveniently presented to you.

Oh my gosh. Please make a full version of Fell in a Ditch. I didn't know how much I needed that in my life.

JoJo's comeback branding is as well-conceived as Corey Feldman's Angels.

So mad I'm watching this when the sound music for "I fell in a ditch" was removed 😂

Somehow, you manage to be the kindest yet most hilarious comic/critic on KZbin. And I love it.

I fell in a ditch is epic and hits close to home. Two years I broke my leg and literally spent 30 minutes in a ditch waiting for the ambulance. That song needs to be a ringtone!

That sounds painful 😢 I'm glad you are okay now!

@@taram9409 several months of physical therapy, a surgery and brace later, thankfully I am finally healing. But it's still pretty darn funny to think this actually happened.
