Fatteh hummus | Lebanese fatteh recipe
Ingredients:
Pita bread -2

Oil -1/2 cup ( for frying the bread)
Chickpeas -1 cup
Cumin powder -1/2 teaspoon
Salt-1/2 teaspoon
For the yogurt sauce:
Yogurt -1 cup
Tahini paste -1/4 cup
Cumin powder -1/4 teaspoon
Salt-1/2 teaspoon
Lemon juice -1 tablespoon
Garlic paste -1 teaspoon
Butter or oil-1 tablespoon
Pine nuts - 2-3 tablespoon ( you can use any nuts available)
Method:
Soak the chickpeas for 4-6 hours.
Rinse well and cook with 3-4 cups of water . Add salt to taste.
Once cooked add little cumin powder and boil for 10 minutes.
Cut the pita bread into pieces and fry until golden.
Mix yogurt, tahini paste, garlic paste, cumin powder, salt and lemon juice. Mix well until combined.
Add the fried bread in a serving plate. Place the cooked chickpeas over top along with some chickpea stock.
Spread the yogurt sauce over top.
Fry some pine nuts until golden and pour it over .
Garnish with sumac, paprika or cumin powder.
