Thank you, Robin. for the battle narrative. I need to view a second time as I had diffculty finding the River , the Ford and the Bridge. in the aerial views. i have read histories and biographies and historical novels set in the civil war period. The English civil war was certainly a time of ‘swashbuckling fashion for men. My goodness, the portraits of Cromwell and his Commanders show a fondness for wide satin sashes tied in elaborate bows over form fitting armor.,& wide hats with trailing feathers! The Cavaliers out did the women in long curling hair, magnificent. mustachios, ridiculous thigh high boots that fell in folds around the ankles, long spills of lace at the neck& wrists and long fancy gloves. Cromwell;s New Model Army preferred a plain and sober mode of dress for the business of war, and purifying the nation of sin and vice . and the King. i tried to imagine the armies thus decked out as I listened to Robin’s mellow voice.. i would like to hear Robin narraate other battles and momentous events of the civil war. i have always felt sorry for the English people under the Puritan rule of Cromwell. .

Difficult to imagine now, the carnage and chaos of the English Civil War period. But, as you rightly point out, we don't have to look far to see history repeating itself today, in a seeming never ending cycle of violence! There have been all manner of advances, but in this respect, very little, except in the scale and destructiveness of modern warfare. Wishing you Seasons Greetings and a Peaceful New Year.

In an ever horror of a world, ironically how heartening to remember, nothing changes. Most wonderfully, our trust in a loving and merciful God. Lifetime after lifetime. 😂 Thank you so much Robin.
