Michigan (USA) here for your enchanting trip through your lovely land. As Robin walks with his two four legged buddies, it seems like a dreamscape as he passes down the narrow roads by old gravestones and time aged rock walls. What a magical ancient land you have and you are lucky you can explore it as you do. I am looking forward to your next excursion back in time. 😀

I really can't thank you enough for sharing this video. During the first twenty years of my life as a local to the area shown, I can say with clarity, that the walks were as awesome then as they still are now. I do on occasion go back and visit the places and reminisce the happy times with my parents, brother and sister. One such time still remains in my heart was watching from a bedroom window my father walk to the farm where the elephants and camels now reside and return with a fully dressed shire horse named Roberta (Bobby for short) She was magnificent, and I loved her very much. But best of all was watching my dad plough the fields near and far. And on his return to the farm, I would always wait for him by the gate listening to the clip-clop of hooves. This excited me, big time and my dad knew it. Stopping, he would pick me up and settle me on Bobby's back, and then took me to the farm. Time passed as I watched him remove the harness, give the horse a quick rub down and then given a jolly good feed. When done, we'd walk back home in time for tea.

Indeed, hidden gems. I've visited Broadway several times seen other areas of the Cotswolds by car but, never via foot. Amazing sights for someone from rural Tennessee. I traveled about 15 times to attend the British Falconry Fair, the friend and falconer I stayed with lived near Broadway. The Cotswold's reminds me of some areas in Tennessee. Thank you for sharing the Cotswolds.

Love your tours of these Cotswold villages. The only disappointing thing I can think of, is that you don't mention anything about the local shops or attractions in any of the villages, apart from the churches.

Robin, its difficult from your description of the possible location of the spring flowing from the watershed to the Thames to guess the location.. There are three possibilities which can be traced back from the Rivers Churn, Windrush and Coln. I knew the farmer at Ullenwood Manor before it became the Star Centre. A survey showed a spring that disappeared into the ground and was presumed to reappear at Seven Springs, the start of the Churn. This may help your searh. Of interest is that water is pumped from the Severn at Tewkesbury to the top of Churchdown Hill.at 154 metres. To get over the watershed at Ullenwood the water would have to be pumped another 74 metres to supply the Thames via the Severn which rises in the very wet Welsh Hills.

Hello from Cornwall. We could do with a Beke here to punish the farmer who insists on ploughing over the public footpath across a field. . Love the Cotswolds.

hamlet /ˈhamlɪt/ Learn to pronounce noun a small settlement, generally one smaller than a village, and strictly (in Britain) one without a church. WITHOUT A CHURCH!
@Grandmastergav862 жыл бұрын
He clearly just meant smaller than a village, which is the general misconception, while the lack of a church is an important detail the misuse of a word hardly devalues the video.
