Love the new set up/background it’s fire. Also the camera quality I noticed looks clearer 🔥. PS you’re semi right about Teddy Riley producing it because Can’t Let Go (1991) actually samples Kieth Sweat’s 1987 classic called Make it Last Forever, which was produced by Teddy Riley. The production isn’t 100% the same, but you can definitely hear key aspects from the original, especially in the intro. Fun fact Mariah sampled this song twice. Once in 1991 for Can’t Let Go and again in 1999 for her Thank God I Found You Remix with Joe and Nas. I recommend listening it’s a great Rnb track

DUDE Walter Afanassief was MC's writing partner. They wrote Hero, All I want for Christmas is You, Butterfly, My All, Anytime you need a friend, etc. He was huge in the 90s. He also co-wrote the song Beauty and the Beast, Alladin, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, the Celine Dion and Barbra Streissand duet,Tell him, among others.

this album was her start as an official producer! she never knew that what she did with her demo tapes and stuff was producing so she was never credited in that in her past album, and this time, she made sure the producer bag is hers! walter is a coproducer that mariah worked a LOT with in her eras where he was still in the label but he decided to stay with the label instead of going with mariah and making more classics. wish they stayed, but if he did stay, we may not even have the we belong together we have today

Mariah is not good at instruments so she needed a musician to translate her compositions into actual music sheets. Walter’s involvement is kind of like that. He may have contributed 5-10% of the music. That’s why MC doesn’t like the fact that 50% of the writing credits of All I Want For Christmas Is You goes to Walter A. She knows the truth … that’s why. He benefits greatly financially with this single song. Set him and his family for life.
