Measure the circumference of all 4 tires with the same air pressure in all 4. On a Nascar race car the right side tires are a larger diameter than the left. This is called stagger. It helps the car to turn left. You might have to switch the tires around so that the front and rear axles have matching tire diameters. That could be why the truck is pulling to one side. The truck looks mean with those tires. I once drew up a picture of a 71 f-100 with Wide 5 wheels with slicks. On paper it looked mean!
@tanner8824 жыл бұрын
I think those tires are super flat and make the mounting points verticals instead of riding on a curve or cushion of a tire they are planted flat. Really bad ass man! 👍
@jackwatters95024 жыл бұрын

well, the "old school way" is to use a baseball bat (skinny end) wedge it in there and drive forward... you could flip the shackle hangers, but that'll take a little fab work so they clear the bottom of the bed. i did that on my F100 as well as raising the front spring hangers.

Looks good. Surprised you were able to get the tires to fit. Might want to have your alignment check as to why its pulling to the left. Anytime a change to a wider rim/tire combo with a different offset will magnify any misalignment you may have had but didn't notice with the narrower wheels and tires.

Try some "Engine Restore." I used it on an old tractor engine and it helped it a lot. You also probably need to run some heavier oil (maybe some 20/50 wt.), just be sure not to rev the engine much with the heavier oil in it until it has warmed up good. Otherwise, you might twist the oil pump shaft off and/or wipe some bearings.

The 70 Ford F-100 has a plastic egg crate grill. Would of loved to have put a 429 in mine. The color was light green over white. But it was the low horse power 302. Later had a 81 F-100 it had a big 300 6- cylinder 3 speed with over drive. On the floor in Black. No power there either. Put a rebuilt Jasper motor in it. The body went to Hell! Before the motor did. Wish I still had that one back. Shawn.

20 psi oil pressure for a big engine like that is pretty normal but being nascar engine I would definitely check the fluid and thenpump
@willparker31704 жыл бұрын
engine size doesn’t matter when it comes to oil pressure. how tight your tolerances are and what weight oil you run determines it. 10 psi per 1,000 rpm is a good rule of thumb. I personally don’t like less than 20 pounds at hot idle.

@pi17974 жыл бұрын
Sick bad ass looking. A cheap little trick to make the tires pop. Go to Lowe’s or Home Depot to the paint desk. Ask them for a sample of white paint or if they won’t give you a sample. Buy a cheap quart of white paint. Paint over Goodyear and Eagle on the tires. Make em pop. Your fuel pump is making that noise because it is about to go out. If you run your tank to flat empty all the time. Puts way more stress on your fuel pump. When did you last do an oil change on your motor? Go thicker to try and get some compression back.
@ppvfd1214 жыл бұрын

I've also got a '71 F100 (FE 360) and idling in traffic on a hot day, that oil pressure needle is *ON* the 'L'. Coincidentally, that's also about where it sits when the engine isn't running at all. At least you *have* oil pressure. Apparently, old Fords are notorious for low pressure. I'm running thicker oil now, but will also deal with the issue during the rebuild. I don't know anyone who's particularly comfortable with PSI being THAT low.
