To set your idle mixture use a vacuum gauge and a digital tach (a timing light with a tach readout is perfect). Its tempting to try and use the wideband but its much better to set it where you see maximum vacuum and then lean it out a quarter turn. Its iterative since as you adjust the screws it will idle up in rpm and once it comes up by a out 50rpm turn your idle speed down. Ive got a good series on my channel going step by step. Truck sounds killer! Reminds me of my 283 SBC C10 5spd that I tried to build to the hilt

May I recommend a shirt design? Doesn’t have to be the main one just an option. Do just a classic one of your truck. Not a ton of vinyl just a nice outline design. Classic and simple. But it be obvious that it’s your nascar f100 if that makes sense.

If you used the same generation f250 spring perches in place of the f100 you can lower the truck 2" without cutting the coils and gain more camber. Old school front drop for these ford's.

So I’ve been trying to fix my favorite truck. The 93 f150. That needs transmission work. It wouldn’t shift and started whining. I changed the filter last night but it still won’t shift. But no longer whines. I’m gonna try some other things but it’s possible that it’s getting a 5 speed swap because the sad automatic transmission is a common theme on all my vehicles. Besides my diesel dually that needs cylinder heads

Need to fix the exhaust leak before tube on it. It’ll make your gauge read lean.
@sspddmon Жыл бұрын
If your cam has a good bit of overlap in it, wouldn’t your AFR read lean like that since unburnt O2 is likely getting into the exhaust? I’d be hesitant to tune idle circuits based on the AFR if that’s the case. 🙃

I'd be more concerned with the wires to the fuel pump going through the hole in the frame without a grommet.
@jimmywilson1388 Жыл бұрын
I had one of those super loud fuel pumps on my 89 coupe mustang when I got a wild hair and swapped to a Barry Grant speed demon…😆 It would go EEEEEEERRRRRRRRR and vibrate the whole god dang car…🤣 That sumbitch wouldn’t fall out of a tree when I swapped to a carburetor and no I didn’t have shity heads. I’m just not a carburetor guy and didn’t know wtf was wrong with that POS. 😂 I swear it lost 50 hp when I swapped though. I eventually went back to fuel injection. But anyway I recently got a 72 Ferd truck so I guess I’m gonna give the ole 4 barrel a day in court… I think I’ve got a little more patience these days. I was originally planning to put a fuel injected 408 with a 6 speed manual transmission in it but I think the truck is all original. The engine code is for a 302 which is what it still has in it. It would kinda be a shame to get rid of the 302 after 51 years. My truck is a basket case right now… F’d up wiring and everything with a super shity 2 barrel but it’s a damn straight truck with very little rust. It has some small holes in the floor pan and that’s it other than surface rust, so it’s a good platform to start on… I’ve wanted one of those truck since I was a teenager and I’ll be 40 in a couple days. I bought a 78 bronco for 500 bucks about 15 years ago and drove that old beast home missing the whole way…😂 I popped the hood with the lights off and it looked like a Christmas light show under the hood…😅 I put a new set of plug wires on it and drove the hell out of it. You just can’t find deals like that on those old trucks nowadays. So I kinda figured it was now or never. Thanks for the videos and advice, I really love your channel and subscribed recently. 💪🏼
