It stinks but I really do find that the vinegar traps help mitigate the problem pretty quickly.

Raw Honey, Lemon Juice, Grated Ginger... boil until the "hard crack" stage like with candy-making. Pour into candy mold or just dollop onto a silicone mat. Dust with powdered sugar or corn starch to prevent them from sticking together and store in a glass jar (at least that's my preference).

I had about 30 flies get into my house and I tried a combination of sugar, vinegar and dawn dish soap and only 1 got in and drowned. What is your secret?

was it apple cider vinegar? That seems to be the trick. Shallow container with ACV, drop of dish soap and let them find it!
