Make your own botanical stamp-Lino cut.

Hope you are all doing well.
I am at it again. I can’t get enough of carving these drum and relatively simple botanical stamps.
I just love the look of them in a journal and there is something so very satisfying about designing and carving your own stamps.
I hope this gives you some inspiration to carve your very own little stamps.

These are GREAT!! Stamping looks wonderful. I like the little lines & bits left on background of stamp. It makes it look like the old wood cuts they used to do. Rustic!! Great job on these. Aww thank you. You could trace an image on with transfer paper just remember that the carving will print in reverse. 😊 hope that works for you. Happy carving

What is the funny thing is that it isn't that you can't draw but that you haven't figured it out yet! Taking cheap paper and a pen or pencil and just seeing what happens when you sit down to sketch anything in front of you... Salt shaker, for instance, you will be surprised how quickly good observation observation and slow drawing will result in recognizable things! Be critical, but only in figuring out what could improve it, not in saying how bad it is! Keep the early things. You will love seeing how far you have come!

Bought the kit, made my first mushroom with turned out..ok. I do like it but I'm hoping my skills improve. I find it really hard to make the thin lines of the ribs underneath the mushroom cap, even with the deep V. I need a deep V that is more narrow, or something. Any suggestions?

I found that part challenging as well. I took some scrap and practiced. It’s all about the pressure you apply to the blade. It only has to be carved lightly to show up in the print. So practice lines by pushing it hard and light and then print the scrap you will see the range of thickness in the lines. I hope that helps. So happy you are trying it 😊
