I’m also a spinner. I started with an Ashford traditional but due to a leg injury the constant treadling aggravated my leg, so (I had to!!!) move to an electric wheel. Mine is an Ashford and I just love it. They are now quite expensive (NZ 1,000 ++). Mine also came with a tensionised lazy Kate. I sit my wheel on my breakfast bar and I can do a bit of spinning while waiting for the dinner to cook!

It's great that we have so many options for spinning wheels! I love my EEW! The price was right and it spins like a dream! Happy spinning to you!

Great demo. I’m getting the EEW6.1 for Christmas and this really helped. I’m excited to get it now!!
@TheCrochetArchitectАй бұрын
Thanks, Sheila! I hope you enjoy your EEW6.1 as much as I enjoy my EEW6.0! It's so compact and doesn't take up a lot of room in the house. Plus it does a fabulous job of spinning! Merry Christmas and happy spinning to you!

Thank you for this review. I’ve been looking at a much more expensive version and decided to hold off because of the cost. I’m jumping in and ordering an EEW 6 because of your review! I’m so excited to transition from yarn enthusiast to fiber artist ❤

You're very welcome, Robin! The EEW 6 is compact so it doesn't take up all the room that a traditional spinning wheel does. Plus it does an excellent job of spinning and plying yarn! You won't be disappointed! Also, there's a Facebook group and a Ravelry group for the Electric Eel Wheel for diagnosing what's going on and how to fix it (the learning curve of owning anything). You can show off the yarn you've spun in these groups, as well. The EEW 6 is definitely worth every penny you pay! Happy spinning to you!

Thank you so much, Chris! There's a bit of a learning curve for me! But what new craft doesn't come with a learning curve?

My dear friend loaned me her machine EEW. I have to admit that ever since she left it here I have not touched it. I feel intimidated by it. 1. What if I can't do it? 2. What if I break it? My friend Kerrie is a really good spinner.

I watched lots of spinning videos, specifically with the EEW. Here is the KZbin channel for Dreaming Robots, who designed and sells the EEW spinning wheels: kzbin.info. Here is another YT spinning channel with lots of videos for the EEW: kzbin.info/door/j_XR_gZRlvK_zuG7W3hTIw. This lady is also in the Ravelry group for the EEW spinning wheels. You can find that group here: www.ravelry.com/groups/electric-eel-wheel. I've learned a lot from other people, but I'm not in any position to pass along any of what I've learned because it's been a year or two since I've spun any fiber! Have you spun yarn before? Have you taken any spinning classes? I took a spindle spinning class and a wheel spinning class at my local yarn shop before I bought my EEW spinning wheels. I decided on the EEW because of the low cost and mostly because of how little room it takes up in my home/closet. Has your friend given you any lessons with her EEW? I haven't broken my EEW and I'm not too sure what I'm doing sometimes! Take it slow and easy. I gained a lot of confidence by watching YT videos. And asking questions in a spinning forum/group is also really helpful! There are many long-time spinners who are happy to share their knowledge with others. It's a wonderful online community of sharing and encouraging these days! Learn from your mistakes because we ALL make them! And enjoy learning something new!

Thank you so much for this great demonstration. I'm looking forward to when Dreaming Robots has the e wheel back in stock and I will definitely be ordering one. Right now I have 2 traditional Ashford wheels, but I am looking forward to trying spinning on an electric wheel.

You're very welcome, Janet! Are you on the Dreaming Robots email list? I just received an email from them today. Maurice is possibly going to come out with a foldable e-spinner! Here's the video he made about it: kzbin.info/www/bejne/h3Okd6WJqMZ_rpI. It looks pretty cool to me! Happy spinning to you!

You're very welcome! I hope this video helped you decide whether to get the EEW 6 or not. There are lots of videos for this spinning wheel on the Dreaming Robots KZbin channel, as well as several other KZbin channels. Happy spinning to you!

Thank you Architect. I was one of the people who asked for a demonstration. It was very interesting. I definitely learned a lot about spinning.

You're very welcome, Carolyn! I didn't demonstrate too much about the finer points of spinning in this video because I'm still learning to spin yarn myself. If/when I get better at spinning yarn, I may do a spinning video to help others improve their spinning skills, too. But that'll be a long way off because I have a very long way to go to improve my spinning skills! I've only been spinning yarn off and on for about 2 years, but I've been crocheting for over 45 years. So I've had a lot more practice with crocheting that I can share with others in my crochet videos and crochet classes!

A week ago I was looking at a sleeping beauty wheel (classic)... then went to the fold up travelling wheel (ashford)... and today I thought.... Let me look at electric. And your video is the first one I saw.... You are an excellent sales lady.

You won't regret buying the EEW6! It's such an easy and fun e-spinner, the price is great and it takes up very little room in your home. Maurice has excellent customer service, as well. He does Go Fund Me campaigns from time to time to fund his new products/inventions. He also has a Ravelry group where he interacts with his customers. I hope you enjoy your EEW6 as much as I do!
