I just want to say, I can't thumbs up this enough times. I'm still referring people to this video years after I watched it.

Thanks Vampy. I watched the quick guide and then this one, to be sure I had all the bases covered. Now for the next step. My very first spin.

I just ordered mine today! So excited! I’ve been using a drop spindle and it’s been a lot of fun but it’s killing my shoulder and wrists lol. I’m hoping this will be easier on my joints. Can’t wait!

I’ve noticed that while spinning, the metal bit of the flyer (where you put the bobbin) comes apart and rattles and shakes the whole e-spinner. I’ve used e6000 to glue it in place and that’s worked for a few weeks but it’s come apart again. Is there another solution to this issue?

I'm sorry you are having this issue. I understand that the two metal pieces that make up the spindle have come apart. This shouldn't happen, but I have seen a few with this issue. The fix is pretty easy. Remove the flyer and clean off both these metal parts as well as you can. Set the larger part vertically.Take any thin metal glue (loctite thread glue is what I use and is in most hardware stores) and put 2 drops into the hole. Then insert the rod and twist it a few times to make sure it gets all the way to the bottom of the hole. Then let it dry and it shouldn't come apart again.

I just got my 6.1 eew and all my flyer hooks are turned inward. I like them facing out. Is there a reason for it? How can I change them ?

Sorry about this. Some did ship this way by mistake. The fix is to just pop off the end caps with and then turn around the hooks. No tools needed. Just use your fingers. I also included two extra hooks to use as spairs. Or if you find the yarn puffs out at high speeds you can spin with 3 hooks on each side.

In response to the comment that crocheters may want to spin on S and ply on Z, does that apply the same for left-handed crocheters?
@vampyyy Жыл бұрын
Sorry, I just saw this comment! I really don't know, it depends on how you wrap! If you crochet with plied knitting yarn, do you find it tends to untwist between your hands as you work, or tighten? or neither? If neither, then don't worry, either way is fine. If it untwists, then you'll likely find a benefit from spinning S and plying Z.

When storing the spinner, do you leave the drive band off or remove it?
@vampyyy Жыл бұрын
if it's going to just be overnight or so, i leave it on. For longer storage I remove it so it doesn't get stretched out and lasts longer.
