Just got my much anticipated EEW6 a couple days ago. I haven't spun since the 1970's and it was a frustrating experience. I had no guidance, no internet and no access to prescoured and dyed wool. I am so thrilled; I can't even tell you how fun and exciting it is to feel that I'm already getting the hang of it. I love this little spinner! So easy to put together and to control. I think that it makes it a lot easier not to have to treadle. Just have to learn how to coordinate my hands with the steady rhythm of the spinner. And it is so quiet. Thank you so much for your videos.

Thank you so much for designing a wheel that many can afford. It makes me think of Ghandi and the spinners in India.

I had mine up and going within minutes of getting out of the box. These videos are helpful for understanding all the working parts.

Wish I’d seen that bobbin bearing trick sooner! 😄 That was the only minor issue I have had with the EEW 6, getting the bearing seated on the flat disk side during bobbin assembly. I’m really impressed by how well this wheel is designed, and grateful to the friends who sang its praises enough to get me interested.

Glad you found it helpful. I didn't actually figure this trick out until after I shipped them. Initially I had a tool to make it easy to get the bearings in, but once I figure out this trick it worked better than the tool.

@@DreamingRobotsBlog Yeah, I used a rubber mallet and large blunt screwdriver. Your method will save me a trip to the basement. 😄

I got the recommended Talentcell battery that fits in the bottom. I noticed after I installed it that when I spin there is a little knocking noise and I am assuming it is the battery because there is a tiny bit of space on all sides. I put a tiny piece of foam on the side when I installed it so I think it is shifting forward/backward therefore I am going to put a small piece of foam in the back so it fits flush and tight inside the bottom case. (Sorry I feel like I made this very convoluted, oh well.) Have any of you experienced this and if so, what did you do?

A little padding like you described is good

Where did you get your battery? Which size?

@@rai2fai It is the 6000 mAh Tallentcell. I mention that battery and some other choices here: www.dreamingrobots.com/eew-battery-power/

why little magnet on the end, under the flyer shaft, opposite the pulley?
@DreamingRobotsBlog3 жыл бұрын
There are some other videos of me using that. The use is to hold the pulley that you remove from the back of the flyer when changing bobbins.

Dumb question: When I received my EEW6 I immediately installed the the battery and went to attach the bottom case and noticed that the screw holes seem to be slotted in the wrong direction. When you slide them into the locked position it leaves the whole top offset which is very unsightly. Does that make any sense? I purchased the bottom for my Nano and installed it and it fits perfectly even though the screw holes are oriented the same way as the ones on the EEW6. I have a feeling I am doing something wrong because I haven't seen anyone else mention it in the group. I did find a work around though. I just install the bottom cover so that it is flush with the top and screw it down snug in that little edge of the screw hole itself (not the slotted part). It seems to be very secure. Anyway, please let me know if I'm doing something incorrectly.

I think you are putting the bottom on backwards. Try flipping it around and putting it on. The hole to see the battery pack should be in the back.
@heatherpagefiberfreak42303 жыл бұрын
@@DreamingRobotsBlog OMG....I thought about that but I figured it went the same way as the Nano. Do I have the bottom of the Nano on backwards also? I thought was a little weird that the y shaped battery cable had to stretch halfway around the machine to plug it in. Wow, leave it to me to do things ass backwards.
