I'd love to go on a crystal hunting trip. Don't know where to start. It's always been a dream of mine to go to public places like this and dig. So peaceful and fun. I guess I'll start local and hunt for Fire agate in Arizona.

I've heard of several Rockhounding KZbinrs mention that some mines are 'salted,' can you make a video to help the rest of us distinguish between real and artificial finds? I'm going to NC in March to do some hunting and want to be able to tell the difference. I hear there are a lot of salted mines in the smokie mountains. Love your videos!

A good days fossicking , by the look of what you showed us Brian . I have a few crystals , which have 'atuned' to myself , which is great . One of the larger Quartz , one day , for some reason , lit up from the inside , while it was in shade - quite a neat trick , still cannot figure out how that occurred , but a photograph , was taken of the lit Quatz , which actually shows the crystal all lit up , and not throwing light enough to create shadows . Its also got refracting , internal fractures , which i hope never break the Quartz up - its to beautifull for that to happen .

I absolutely loved this video Bryan. I liked the clear points better than the smokies but that’s just personal taste. And the clear were REALLY clear! That touch of amethyst makes that a favorite though. For $5, totally worth it. As usual, your enthusiasm and zest for what you do is infectious! Can’t wait to see you again - maybe in Arkansas when Rick makes his trip to Kentucky if I’m healed enough. That looks like a lot of hiking but clean trails. 💜💎

Yeah, they little clear ones are really fun to find also! A lot more of those there than the smoky and Amethyst, I’ve still never found a crazy good sector of Amethyst there, but have filmed some nice pieces! Such a fun place

I have always wanted a large piece of Amethyst! Its my birthstone and has always been one of my favorite gem stones! Do you know of a reasonable priced place to get what I want? Last one I got was not amethyst someone had painted quartz was so disappointing specially as I live on a fixed income. I may be turning into a magpie with my need for shiny things!

Could you sometime do a special on how it works behind the digs? If you own a mine of have a claim, been working on opening up vains, and invite people to dig over there. When they find good stuff, you have done all the big work and investments. What kind of arrangements are set up in advance? When is decided on finders keepers, how do you split up the collective finds of a group dig. What sort of different types of arrangements on who can claim keep on buy the findings are there on paid or invited pocket digs? That kind of info would be very interesting I think to those of us viewers who are not familiar with the written and I suspect many more unwritten rules of rock hounding and mining. Love your video's and great content. And love little Matrix ♥️
@CricketsBay9 ай бұрын
Gosh, that would be a great series. The arrangement varies amongst all the places the public can pay to dig. I would like to see him interview 12 or so different dig site owners from across the U.S. and find out what payment scheme each of them uses at each site, if it's the same scheme they started out with, do they offer different schemes at different times of year depending on tourist load, etc.
@ivonneamfibie14839 ай бұрын
A bit more info about the arrangements at that specific dig at the start or the end of a video would be great. No need for a new format that way, so Bryan can keep on doing what he does best 😃
@ivonneamfibie14839 ай бұрын
Also I AM more interested in how diggers do the split amongst themselves when they invite other diggers tot their claim. OR when they go on a group dit together, than the arrangements at public digging Enterprises.

I'm gonna have to book a holiday to the states and take part in one of these digs, I can't find anything like this in the UK. Any rules on bringing crystals home with you on a plane ?
@CricketsBay9 ай бұрын
They need to be clean. If they're not gem quality cut stones the UK customs authorities don't care. They're considered worthless rocks. If you like fossils, there's a bunch of places to dig on the coasts of England. The words "dig ammonites UK" are a good place to start.
