3 reasons why Fred is the G.O.A.T - No ads, one take, tells you w a straight face that Maker's flagship is good because it makes his wife happy. ⭐⭐⭐
My Six of the Best bourbons to always have at the house is a conventional list: 1) Rare Breed, 2) 1920, 3) Jack SB, BP, 4) Maker's 46 Cask Strength, 5) Knob Creek SB, and I'll say Woodford Double Oaked (though truth be told, I more often reach for the 1910. I like to keep both around the house).

Love the video. I was sipping Bookers last night, (lumberyard batch) my god was it delicious: honey, tea, leather, etc., I also opened a knob creek 9 yr. single barrel reserve that was at 120 proof and was presently surprised at the similarities between these two. Almost identical I thought. The smoothness on the bookers at 125 proof, it’s “mind bottling” -Ron Burgundy Anyway house bourbons in my neck of the woods are as follows: 1. Evan Williams 1783 (86 proofer and the extra aged 90) 2. Old forester 1910 not 20. 3. Wild turkey 101 4. Bardstown bourbon Discvery series #7 5. Johnny Drum 101- love that this one rarely gets any lovin…let’s keep it that way 6. Used to be McKenna 10 year, but I have some more new releases/iterations of it and I’m not impressed to say the least e.g., barrel no. 9481 barrels on 1-8-10, I’ll stills drink it though. 7. Store pick Russell Reserve single barrels…my god 8. Willet family estate eye 4 year- really common lately here in Texas, which is uncharacteristic. Prior to 2023, never would see them, now they’re everywhere. 9. And my favorite, especially when you consider price, quantity, and availability, Early Times BIB…this is the real banger. I’ve currently got a bottle of 2022 Birthday Bourbon, and a pappy 20 year and I’m consistently reaching for the Early times. This bottle really helped me work to eradicate my Bourbon FOMO. I’m know longer spending unmentionable amounts of money on unicorn Bourbons.

Maker's Mark has for a long time been the primary "house bourbon" here. It's all my wife drinks. I also have many, many different Maker's Private Selection examples, as well as I always keep on hand Maker's Mark 101. I have been in exploring mode for a few years on others. Strong repeaters are Wilderness Trail's wheated bourbon, and Horse Soldier. I recently tried Evan Williams Bottled-in-Bond, and was pleasantly surprised how good it is for the price point. Like they say on the Trail, so many bourbons, so little time. Cheers!

I have a similar approach for the types I always want on hand. - Wild Turkey or Russell's - Old Forester 1920 or Jack Daniel's barrel proof for the sweet tooth - MGP sourced bourbons and ryes. Normally they're store picks of smaller NDPs so I can try new brands. I prefer sticking to the $50-70 range for these and only buy brands that are transparent with their labeling. - Any Maker's wood finished - Knob Creek rye or bourbon pick - Sadly, ECBP would always adorn my shelf but now it's too hard to find

I agree with you on the Elijah Craig. It ain't the same now as the old 12 year.
