@@gastoncruz4885 when people stand in line hours for mediocre liquor at over priced value the market is over. Those in line just don’t realize it. The old "time vs value"

This won't happen because we live in the future. We know a lot more know then back in the day. These will never be on the shelf because they would get bought up and stored for the next bourbon boom.

Bingo. 😂 The only people that get it are dirty flippers, shop owners and their friends, whiskey tubers, and rich people paying secondary. The true whiskey people get the whiskey shaft.

Been collecting for many years and around 2000 when things started getting crazy I was getting pretty bummed out about seeing where the prices were going and then 2012 Roll Along and the rest is history I believe a lot of this has to do with distilleries example Wild Turkey selling 10-year rise for $300? I just don't see it any longer I believe that the distilleries has caused their demise by overpricing and allowing second-hand price gouging and sending their bottles to states that escalate the prices instead of giving to the controlled States they use many excuses as supply and demand but not all good Bourbons have to go down that path honestly I'm excited to see the bourbon market crash and watch all these distilleries go down with it because it means things will get better and I'm still going to be doing what I do

Thanks so much for the Woodenville love I have been a buyer of their products since the opening weekend, I was there visiting two stepsons who know I love whisky and Woodenville was having their grand opening and still have unopened round bottles that they first released their juice in. Awesome distillery and always visit when I'm out that way. (:

I know everyone should fit in frame, but dang my brotha from Woodinville ain't got no leg room! He's got two planes with their landing gear down not allowing for him to also! Hahaha Cool to hear glassware getting some love, I prefer snifter glasses almost always at home for my whiskey. Just because I don't ever make cocktails and like to drink neat!

I like Glencairn for critical tasting and for Scotch. I really like Libbey Kentucky Whiskey Trail for casual sipping. I have an 80’s square Jack Daniel’s lowball which is cool. I got into purpose built glassware with wine. The right glass for the right wine really makes a significant difference in taste, nose, and enjoyment!

Bulleit 12 yr rye and 10 yr bourbon are pretty good for the price. If you really want affordable well aged spirits, rum is a better option. Doorly's 12 year Barbados rum is like $35 a bottle and it's delicious.

I have good friends who are/were traditional bourbon or rye drinkers say “eff it” and have lateraled over to single malts just due to scarcity and increasingly high SRPs. And from my perspective, it seems distillers are cannibalizing their mid-tier staples in the pursuit of more expensive expressions. And then there is the faux scarcity component - how many bottles of MWND Act 11 were produced? 120,000? And that came with a 20% price increase? GTFO. I’m at the point where I only shop Costco or establishments that sell at SRP. Let the secondary market burn - it benefits us who drink what we buy and the industry will adjust. /rant

consumers are fed up with the bullshit and finally getting smart about how they spend their money. People are tired of getting ripped off on over hyped, under performing whiskey and many newcomers have had the chance to try some of the unicorn bottles and realize that while they're very good, they aren't worth paying much more than MSRP for, and they're certainly not worth spending countless hours driving store to store to obtain. Now, the market has stabilized, good whiskey is obtainable and the consumer has become much more intelligent about what to spend money on. we'll see a lot of crappy, overhyped brands die off in the coming year or two as cash gets tight and their stock of quality whiskey dwindles. The companies who invested well into their own juice and production will be great.
@Theory0fMind5 күн бұрын
I have found this is especially true with rye. Everybody wants to position themselves as a premium rye but very, very few are offering something that can even compete with cheaper standard offerings from brands like Heaven Hill or Michter's.
