My family followed some aspects of the religious cult the duggars were/are in so I read Jill’s memoir immediately because it is so so similar to the way I was raised

Omg. As a Christian it's so frustrating seeing extremism come out of what is meant for love.

I also loved Four Winds. Found it hard to read but such a good book. I also read that Piccoult book. it was medium for me even though I generally like her books. I’m waiting for Reign from the library. I found this series to be just quirky and fun. Bluebird is definitely going on my TBR and maybe a few of the others! Great video and it is so great to have you back!😊

Hi. I read 11 books in September and many were 5 stars. ❤ angels of the resistance sounds great. I'm currently reading wish you werehere. I'm loving it. The storyteller was great also, I read it a while back. Blue bird sounds very good. I followed the Duggar family as well. The four winds was interesting to me. I read it fairly recently. I have the nightingale and winter garden. Very excited to read them.

She is one that I didn't realize how much I loved her books as well. I never think of her as a favorite author but I think she needs to be moved to that list.

I agree Four Winds is a fantastic book. I have put Bluebird on my TBR.

Hi Amanda this is Von. I met you and the Besties in Bookman's and you took a picture with my phone. That made my year. This was a good video with a great selection of books. The two that sounded interesting were Miraculous and Angels of the Resistance. I will need to finish some of the booksI have before getting more.

Oh my goodness! Von!! You were such a delight to meet. I'm so glad you were there to welcome us to Phoenix. I hope you enjoy both of these books if you decide to pick them up ☺️

You aren't alone in your love for the Duggars. I couldn't wait every week to watch a new episode.🤔 I don't think we were the only Duggar lovers...I just put it on hold at my library. I am #72 in line so a lot of people want to read what Jill has to say.

I have been going down a Duggar rabbit hole and reading all their books including Michelle’s to see if I pick up on stuff. I read counting the cost on release day and while it’s revealing, I also think it may be too respectful for some people. And at the end, she kind of makes it sound like they ok. Her and her dad. Not great but ok enough to meet her new baby

I loved the Duggars show, I watched it every week. I still like some of the family members and watch some of their KZbin videos. I don't think that one has to be ashamed or embarrassed for liking the show as we are not responsible for their behavior. I was back and forth on whether or not to read the book Counting the Cost but am finally on the library waitlist that way I can read the book and not spend the money on the book and be upset about how much I spent on the book and it being short. Jinger and Jeremy's book was good but it was short and I was made about the price that I paid for a short book. Four Winds is on my TBR and will be for a while, as she has quite a few books that I want to read.

I totally understand not wanting to pay so much for a short book. Definitely the library is the way to go.

Putting “angels of the resistance” on my list. Thanks. I also listened to “Four Winds” and while it was so interesting, it was so so so so sad. Not one happy moment in the book. I wish there was at least one positive moment to remember.

I agree. I just thought it was such an accurate portrayal of how those before us struggled so hard to provide a good life for their families.

I loved the Grace of Wild Things and am looking forward to reading The Islands of Elsewhere. For October, though, I am participating in Victober, so have several Victorian classics lined up to read.

I also just read The Four Winds and thought it was fantastic. The only other of hers that I've read is The Great Alone, which I didn't like quite as much. I've heard the Nightingale is really where she she shines so I need to get to that one-would you recommend print or audio?

I have done the audiobook for all three and loved them all.

I think I need to read the Reign series. Also, The Islands of Elsewhere, Misfit Mansion, Bluebird and Angels of Resistance. Teenaged WWII sharp-shooters sounds so interesting to me! I’m going through this phase of missing my mom very much. She passed away in March 1999 during the flu epidemic. You’d think I’d finally be over the intense sadness. And I was for a very long time. But it reached out and slapped me upside my heart a couple weeks ago so I’m staying away from grief-related stories for now. How strange is that?
@OnTheMiddleShelf Жыл бұрын
Not strange at all. Grief is a mysterious beast.

I'm really looking forward to reading Jill Duggars book. I'm unfortunately waiting for 10 weeks bc my library has a long hold list for it though. Like you I was very loyal 19 kids and counting fan so I follow all of the girls on KZbin now and try to keep up with them that way.

Yes. I try to keep up on what the girls are doing too.

Huh. I have never had that problem! Haha! The issues I had with peers was that we couldn’t play together! Hide and seek and stuff! I’d have killedd to have my biggest problem in life be that my friends wanted to read braille! I always wanted to read this but now I think this boy will just annoy me and all I’ll think is be grateful you lucky brat!

I love the Duggars did not any more as with this family it was in a religious community in which they had to do what the male leader said and the male leader of the house aka her father was in charge and they had to do what he said and is why he tried to get his sons problems swept under the rug and the police helped him to do that so I am looking forward to reading 📖 this book and the other sister book 📖 as well prayers and blessings for you and your family love your Aussie family friend John ❤❤❤❤did you enjoy your girls trip 😂😂😂😂
