I've seen comments of people saying Arkham was too over the top, that it clashed with the serious tone of the show. Arkham needs to be over the top, it needs to be shown how crazy that place is. I feel like we got that with this episode and it left me wanting a show set in Arkham, Shutter Island style.

What? Real asylum were literally worst than whatever was shown in this version of arkham..it was a tone down from reality so people saying is too over the top are literally saying real life is over the top..

I dont think we'll see Mark Strong again after this ep. He's served his purpose for this story

On imdb he is listed for 2 episodes . I don't know how reliable imdb is with that since the show has not finished, but I hope its true. (If imdb is right we also won't see alberto and salvatore maroni in the show again)

Shame, he melted into the role of Carmine in just a few scenes. Loved John Turturro as well but when I think of Carmine from the comics, Mark is right on the money.

Mark Strong as Carmine Falcone was class. Pretty cool to see Falcone in his younger years, you can see and imagine how intimidating he was.

Hey guys, Isn't this the story line that leads to the rise of The Court of Owls? Vitti and a bunch of rich tycoons makes Penguin their public face. Then they frame Sofia and send her back to Arkham, until Batman gets wind of it? Then Metas and assassins get hired to take him out, but he eventually exposes them anyway? This is where Huntress, Deathstroke, Joker etc comes in? What story line am I thinking of, if I'm wrong?

She was briefly rude to Oz telling him he was just a driver, but she also handled it and did not give up information or help her. Even in the house she was more protective asking why he was inside. It’s possible drivers get in trouble for that and she follows it up by complimenting his jacket. Her dad already killed Summer before he confronts her. The set up was basically locked in. Police showed up as soon as they are leaving. So while she is unwise to mention the scratches, her fate was sealed.

Excellent episode! I can’t believe how hung up you got over Sophia killing Magpie and not the Dr. Remember Sophia never thought of herself as The Hangman. She never wanted to own the title. Remember she said her body count wasn’t even big. I don’t see how Magpie was so innocent, she was always in Sophia’s face so she could have very well been a spy for the Dr. I believe Sophia killed her because she just LOST HER MIND and Magpie collateral damage! Killing the Doctor would have been or of a calculated move. She would have had to plan that out. One more thing, I get the impression that psychiatrist wanted to or had a physical relationship with Sophia. Just a vibe I got from their interactions. Whatever the case I don’t think his character will be around anymore. And it was the fact that her father died and he was able to help her brother get her released.

I like the nod to Magpie who was a villain in the comics and she was obsessed with shiny things which Magpie looked at Sophia the same as Sofia is this new shiny fresh person whereas everyone else is dark and far gone 😆 such a great show and Sofia deserves an emmy

I love the fearlessness of the script... The dark humor, the real world application of real people... First episode you get a main character with handicap, secondary character with speech impediment, couple trans hookers. Move from that to a subordinate having inappropriate relationship with boss' wife. Qualified woman being overlooked for her position, prison abuse, main characters dieing... Just the balls of this show and the fact that its not with an agenda. Its not something forced. The world is the world. On another note, Mark Strong in combination with the music they use when he was on screen was legitimately terrifying to the imagination. His tone and the shades and the music make you think of the sheer ruthlessness the character could be capable of in a way you dont get from Torturro's version of the character. The way this show is presented, is just another reason why when used properly, tv/streaming shows can be a more satisfying medium than film... If they did add the Batman to this world thats more fleshed out and sprinkle him in it would still flow... The show is fire. Best actor. Best actress. Best ensemble cast, best best best

the beginning of this episode when you see Penguin's lies exposed in front of Sofia was probably my favorite part of the whole series. That moment shows you who the Penguin really is. there's no one he won't backstab or throw under the bus. That was the moment I started really being afraid for Vic.

@@BernardoMLala Hehe, she was not feeling anything for Magpie or the teenage kid in EP 1... I do understand her motivations, but I interpret her actions the same way I do Penguins. As likable and charismatic Oz is, we must not forget how psychopathic they are. Just like dangerous animals, they may appear cute even, but they may end you... 😅
@BernardoMLalaАй бұрын
@@tsheporabekane4172 quite the opposite. she killed magpie bc she snapped at finding out she was never getting out of jail and the kid in the first ep bc she was spinning out bc the only person who loved her got murdered. in both instances she resorted to violence bc she was feeling anger, pain, or both. killing someone doesn't necessarily make you a psychopath (although ofc sometimes it does)

When Rush says '' I didn't know he was going to write the letter. I tried to stop him.'' it makes no sense. If he didn't know, how could he try to stop him? Surely only one could be true? Either he didn't know or he tried to stop him?

I think Oz tries to kill Vic. In the trailer you see Oz crying to his mum and saying "ill do it", which to me says that Ozs mum told him to kill Vic cause he cant be trusted. Why else would Oz, a hard boiled gangster be crying. It must be something to do with someone close to him. Plus Colin Farrel did say in an interview that we will hate Oz by the end of the series.
