Did anyone else have an issue with accessing this video for the last 2 days? Also, will this affect who is eligible for the giveaway? I tried to comment on the video when it was first posted 2 days ago, but it was set to private shortly afterwards and it didn’t become public again until I was finally able to post my comment just now.

I really like 3:18 when Virtual Riot talks about his musical upbringing at a young age (on top of his fascination with engineering) and the significant role it plays in creating songs that are well thought out and make sense musically even though he primarily makes dubstep, which often emphasizes and prioritizes the technical aspects of music production like sound design. It’s a great reminder that, in most musical genres and styles, the key to making great music that connects with people and has long-term value in the music industry is by getting good at creating and finishing fully realized songs (no matter how good you get at music production, marketing/branding or anything else related to the music industry), which means learning music theory and composition (as well as at least one instrument like the piano if necessary). Virtual Riot is a very talented producer and sound designer and I like some of his songs, so I’m glad I got find out more about him. Another great Cymatics Show podcast episode!

6:20 really resonate with nothing stimulating your senses. I don't have much exciting happening with my life living in a busy city and working a boring job but going home and just messing around with Ableton and making mixes with my favorite dubstep songs is the one thing that gets me going. One day I really wanna get good at making music and maybe make it big but I just wanna have fun with it.

21:36 this 1000% percent. Split your studio time up, when you're songwriting, you want to be able to just get that idea out in a state of flow without interruptions, then you can go back and get nitty-gritty with sound design and mixing
