Hey guys I have a question: when you record musicians and then use these recordings in your packs or beats, how do you aquire rights to it? Does is become yours once you’ve recorded it? Or do you pay the musicians and maybe sign some legal agreement with them? How does it work? Btw I seriously love what you do, keep that rollin
@johnwolfe31705 жыл бұрын
you have the rights when you download them
@AndrewSouthworth5 жыл бұрын
Augenss they sign a contract saying that they’re basically hired guns. Likely the rates are much higher than for music session work because they wouldn’t get any royalties. Cymatics is purchasing the entirety of the rights.
@JRNobleofficial5 жыл бұрын
It's called a "work for hire" so if you were to hire a musician and they come to record, you pay them for their work and you own the recordings. It's fairly common but it's also why some session musicians will charge as much as $100/hour for their work.

All comments about recording instrumentalists live are soooo true, you will never get better sound than the instrument itself played by someone who has studied and practiced the instrument for years. I needed a trumpet for a few tracks so I recorded my buddy who plays for a jazz band and the results were incredible.
@sheldonmaag98165 жыл бұрын
45:00 is my favorite because I never really knew why snares and claps and any beat sounds the way it does, and how some have more power to them and some are not as powerful. I’m a relatively new to producing, and learning this is amazing and really helps with producing. I just learned to layer beats for more umpf
@ASTRO285 жыл бұрын
55:20...when you guys talk about how tracks are actually similar to movies. Most of the times, listening to a track (or watching a movie) provides you an idea how it works, and you get all the relevant "infomations" but you get to analyze the track, or movie, by listening/watching it a second time, maybe a third and so on. Then you will be able to get all the small things that actually "make the big elements shine" 🔥
