I use brown air fryer filters because I use them for their purpose but they're also a great size for my bigger pots. But I will try coffee filters for my smaller ones. I have a Keiurig so I don't buy coffee filters. Out of sight, out of mind. I bet it would be cheaper to use 2 of them for my large pots instead of my air fryer filters. Thank you so much for this idea.

Hi Shannon, This was the first video I have watched in many weeks. I have not been to the Dollar Tree for months. The last of my moving out of my mom's house took place yesterday. The movers came Feb 28th to move all the furniture to my new home and my boyfriend and dad and I have been moving many boxes, small antique furniture since then. My ankles are literally the size of softballs and tomorrow I go back to my job on a concrete floor in a large warehouse. I may be in slippers. This is the first home I have ever lived in that does not have a patio, porch or balcony. I have the entire top floor of the building so I am blessed with front and back windows. I am allowed to put out a welcome mat, allowed to decorate my door and that is it. I have nice windowsills so I have my colorful mini glass bottles and vases that were my mom's in the 60s. I have wooden cats from a scroll saw and stuffed material cats in the windows. Right now I am in a sea of boxes and heafy bags and so I would not fall during the night I have 4 night lights set up thru the condo. People would call me a trail lady if they saw my place. My goal is to be able to decorate by Easter. I donated tons to Habitat and Goodwill and my church's mission drive the last 5 Saturdays of each month but, I kept all mom's sentimental treasurers. I am itching to craft and create. My craft table/sewing machine I have set up next to 2 large windows that have plenty of light no matter what time of day. I maybe only able to use many of these wonderful DIYs inside but, I will make them. I love the plunger candle pot. I have a vase similar to your's and it will look nice next to my electric fireplace. I am glad you threw that in at the end. Thru out my move I never lost site of what box my saw, miter box and glue gun and sticks were in. Happy First Day Of Spring! It is my first one without my mom but, this spring she is happy and well and with all those she loved and missed. Blessings, Rebekah

The hanging planter would be so cute with candle in it. Hang multiple in tree or on deck. TY for cheap lighting idea. My 72 year old mother got a pool last year. I'm gonna make her some smaller to sit and hang around. She will love it. Always remember in winter if you have lost power and no other heat source. Charcoal or yard twigs will burn in the Terra Cotta for warmth or warming soup. I always keep med.size under my sink for just in case. Soon I will be solar,so I can pass my clay pot and charcoal on. Hehe!

Dollar Tree pots usually don’t have drainage hole’s at the bottom of the pots so make sure you put some type of gravel, little stone’s or drill holes at the bottom of the pot for drainage…it really works. If the plants don’t have drainage the root’s can rot.

I'm making a stand for a bird bath using terracotta pots since I can't find anything I like within my price range. To make it more sturdy, I'm going to use a metal stake and thread it through each part of the stand. I'll drill any holes I need to make it go through easily. Hopefully it will stop my bird bath from falling over in high winds. You could have used the same technique with your urn planter.

I really liked the idea of the side table. One thing I'd seen before is to glue some string along the inside of the "lid" so that it can fit snugly on top of the planter instead of gluing it. Then, you can use the planter as storage. On a side note (very random, lol,) you have very pretty hands. I've always been self-conscious of my own due to some deformities, and always notice hands. I really love the periwinkle nail polish. Sorry if that's weird, but I know content creators that show their hands put a lot of time into them looking just right. Great video!

For the planter lamp, you Could put Is a larger hole in the bottom, and then put one of the solar light in and hang it upside down outside for a nice mood light. I am going to be getting the wood pieces tomorrow to make the urn, I think I will be making 2 of them. Great idea!

I'm not sure if someone's already asked this but what would you say are the reasons why you'd use rub n buff over something else? Like a metallic spray paint? Some videos on comparing and contrasting different techniques and tools might be helpful? Especially since the majority of vloggers and blogs are sponsored by certain brands I feel like it's become harder to actually discern which products are best. Love what you do!
@TheDailyDIYer2 жыл бұрын
Spray paint will give it a different look, more clean and even. Rub n buff has more of a rustic texture once applied. You can always use whatever is easier for you in this case 💓

Thanks for saying “4-ply jute”. I’ve been trying to just get a big roll of decent twine. Seriously, every time I would search for twine, only small amounts of thin, weak, crappy twine would pull up, even at big box hardware and farm stores. So aggravating. Just now, I put in “4-ply jute”, and then all of a sudden, 4-ply jute twine is everywhere. Apparently the keyword “4-ply” was the magic word. I’m not kidding, I had put in the word “twine”, “heavyweight twine”, “heavyweight twine in bulk”, etc., and it IS twine, but it absolutely would NOT show that result for whatever reason. Stores need to get their act together. Now I can finally get it.
