It is true, the KW is a lot more compliant compared to the B16... And for this reason, it was rather disappointing on track. Most of my mates eventually went with B16 DCC or Nitron coilovers.
@chadwilliams11972 жыл бұрын
The BEST coilovers for this platform is HANDS DOWN the TRACTIVE coil overs! It literally takes Dumps on the KW DDC and the bilstein b16… I’ve had all 3. TRACTIVE is on a whole other level to those two

Ken, this is the best review I’ve seen on KW and Bilstein coilovers. You having experienced both brands puts you at another level to speak about this topic. I own a 2015 335i and I’ve been dying to lower it, but lowering springs is not something I want to do. I’ve been researching this topic for about 2 to 3 years and I’ve made my decision, all thanks to you.

In another video it was mentioned that the reason Bilstines don’t go lower than 1.6 is because they feel it is unsafe for the front axle. They said going below 1.6 inches will change the angle of the arms too steeply. I have no hard evidence, just quoting another video from a member. But KW know what they are doing as well so who knows what’s right. 😊

The best suspenion for the F80 is the Intrax 1k2 with ARC and Black Titan. If you want to maintain the EDC(which I don't recommend anymore), Tractive Touring is better than the DDC's and the B16's, a lot more comfortable and far better pitch, roll and yaw. I have tested all these suspensions personally and owned most of them.

So we know you like the feel of the KW's in comfort but how about some more clarification on how the KW's feel when driven in sport or sport plus. And how much improvement over stock is it for $4300 plus install?
@TheDailyDriven2 жыл бұрын
Great questions. In Sport the overall feel is a bit tighter and but not considered to be rough. The rebounds on the KW's during Sport are poised and it still feels as though the suspension is absorbing the rebounds. Compared the the B16? You'll have an increase stiffness and will be the responsiveness from the Rebounds. As you get into Sport Plus that just amplifies a little more. From my experience when driving in Sport Plus, the rebounds are sharp and the suspension feel nimble. While riding in Sport plus I never felt as though it was too much. For $4300 price tag, is subjective. You need to decide if lowering your car is something you want / need and if you want something that is forgiving (ride quality). The KW's drastically decreases bodyroll for performance and keeps the car leveled during "Pulls". Hopefully that helps ⬆️

From your review it looks like I'm going for the KW DDC for the better ride quality. Though you did mention that people in New York go with air ride because of their terrible roads and I have bad roads in my area too. I've never tried air ride. If i prioritize comfort over everything do you think i should just go with air ride or the KW's?(price isn't an issue) Also someone here mentioned the TRACTIVE coilovers, do you have an opinion on those?
@TheDailyDriven2 жыл бұрын
I honestly would go with the KW DDC'S. Kw does make a add on product that raises the front up about 1.5 inches with a push of a button. You'll have to ask then for the compatibility of them. That should help on being low and the bad roads.
@aw6142 жыл бұрын
Ah bilsteins and their fast rebounds on highway bumps, all to familiar for me lol, some bridges and parts of I75 in the Tampa get tested with the fast rebounds. Seems like all their sport based shocks have that feel, guess they haven't changed that characteristic. About the Ground control camber plates, are they pillow ball/spherical or poly bushings and no noises with the Ground Control camber plates? I don't know how the New York guys can run static suspensions or even slammed cars, especially in the city, still shocked at the stuff I've seen everytime I visit family.

I'm not sure if they make the KW DDC Coilovers for the F30. They may have something similar. I can honestly say they are amazing. I've put the car back to stock now since it's going to be traded in but out of the 3 difference suspension setups these were my favorite. You'll definitely need to get an alignment after any suspension upgrades.

I currently run the KW V1s on my A3. While they’re pretty good, my main issue is I get hella rubbing on the rear with my 19 inch wheels. Since they don’t have damping I can’t do anything about it except just get a different set of coilovers. Looking at the LW V2 and the Bilstein B16 PSS10. Which one would you recommend to fix this issue?

Hi thanks for checking out the video. To be quiet honest, I actually just sat in my buddies F80 M3 that had the V3 and they rode similar to my KW DDC's. The suspension was a similar ride when compared to the DDC. Only downfall on that was not being able to change the EDC. Im a huge fan of having the ability to change the EDC.
