They couldn't have begun to imagine that so many peoples' minds would be controlled so easily with technology.. The 1st and 2nd amendments were very progressive ways of creating a republic with a democratic system of governing that could avoid becoming a monarchy. Was Fascism a word not yet invented? Dictatorship unknown to them? Are we destined to repeat the 1930s & 40s, as we watch state legislatures manipulate laws, to keep certain groups from casting their votes. Sad. Scary.
