Skate shoes is likely a reference to kids’ shoes with wheels on the bottom. They’ve thankfully fallen out of favor over the past couple of years. Kids would roll through stores and other public places, sometimes pushing themselves off of bystanders to get momentum.

Pantera "Walk". Listened to it earlier. There's a lost town south of New Smyrna. The only thing left, I think, is something called Eldora House. The place had a tie to the war between the states. New Smyrna itself has ruins that are interesting. Also it would be interesting if you could check out the Boone Hall plantation in Charleston one of these days. It was featured in the miniseries "North and South" with Patrick Swayze. The Charleston historic district was featured as well.

Adam I’ve always wondered how much cheaper it would be for you to not rent a car at the airport. You might look into taking an Über to an offsite rental company. It may save you some cash. Also, here in California at least with a AAA membership you can rent from Hertz and prepay for a full tank of gas at a discount so as to not have to bring yer rental back with a full tank. Check into that Amigo.

I live in cinci, we typically do 1k on the way down to florida and then break it up 600 and 400 in two days on the way home. 10 hours of driving isn't that brutal brother. It's an extended workday. I feel you though as you get home and then dive straight into editing. That's the brutal part in my head. Seems much more fun than a 9 to 5 gig and you are doing better off than I am PLUS travel. Skate shoes were a fad awhile back, in the early 2000’s. They had wheels that would retract to become regular shoes but kids wouldn’t always do that. They would be skating in areas that potentially could be dangerous to others.

Kids would just woosh by me in stores and they were so easy to fall on for the kids ( I guess parents sued when injuries occurred even tho...duhhhhh! ) and for me to trip over a kid when they'd just start rolling all of a sudden after walking for awhile. They probably had to put signs up to keep from being sued when kids fell off those things.
