When I got out of the Navy, I was in LA from the mid '60's to '70. There was a place called Schwab's Pharmacy (drugstore). I saw, (and met some) more actors there than you could shake a stick at, as my grandpa used to say. And right down the street was Whisky a Go Go, where I saw The Doors, and other up and coming bands perform. I worked evenings parking cars at the Whisky, and made more money in tips in a week than I did in two weeks in the Navy, and went to school during the day. Some of the best memories of my life were made in those years. :)

Was it an Eh tour, Okay tour, or Better Than A Poke In The Eye tour? When friends used to visit and they'd want to do a Celebrity Homes van tour, I would only go if they let me pick the company. Scott Michaels and the Dearly Departed Tours (and THE O.G.Tragical History Tour of Death) wrote the book and had an awesome museum. After bringing many, many friends - and those friends recommending those tours to their friends, I felt like a one woman marketing firm. I shoulda held out for stock options. LOL! I liked the visuals on this one, Woo Man! Sure beats always being the driver and missing out on the chance to gawk!

I’m very surprised and Somewhat shocked to realize that many of the celebrity houses shown on this tour are directly on the curb side theses stars must have no privacy at all with tour buses slowing down every five minutes in front of their homes it’s sad really

I love videos like this, Adam. I visited Hollywood back in high school. Our marching band was in the Hollywood Christmas Parade in 1999. We didn't do these tours, but the driver for our charter bus took us to some cool places. He was telling us that to get into some of those Beverly Hills and Malibu neighborhoods, you have to have written permission or invitations because of the celebrities that live in those neighborhoods. It makes total sense with all the paparazzi and tours like this. I looked up a couple of those places that the guide mentioned, and at least according to Google, most of them were incorrect. Who knows? Everything on the internet is true, right? lol Keep up the awesome videos, dude.

Yeah, charging 40 bucks to drive around and only see a handful of homes. And then asks for tips? Naw, don't think so. Bet every tour this guy takes you on, he will give different names to those homes. Anyway, still love Adam and his videos. Been a follower for years. I took one of these tours too in 2018. Literally, the tour guide mispronounced the names, blew a few stop signs, went through a red light and almost killed us, and he got lost half way through the tour and asked one of us to open Google maps to get us back, haha. Overall, you have no clue what will happen on these tours. Love the video, Adam. Thank you for posting!

Family did one of these tours over spring break. Definitely corny but have to admit it was fun. Took the TMZ tour bus, which I'd highly recommend. They stop in front of outdoor restaurants and stake out celebs. Pulled up next to Whiz Kalifa and his family cruising down Sunset in his lowrider and talked to him a bit. Also saw a couple of pro athletes.

I did a Hollywood Van tour years ago. Saw mostly trees and bushes outside celebrity homes but it was so much fun! Our guide was so funny we all had a good laugh. Oh, and we crashed, up in the hills, and had to walk back down to the Chinese Theatre which was GREAT! Loved walking the hills!

I took two tours of the Hollywood hills and it gave me a great overview of the area that I never would have gotten on my own. I think seeing locations of where movies had been filmed or seeing famous clubs was cool. The celebrity homes were nothing all that great, “there is so and so’s house” and you see a fence or garage. The quick tour of the area and a knowledgable tour guide are worth the time.

Great video! Had a family reunion and we took one of those tours in 2011. We saw Elton John walking along Rodeo Drive! His dog had corful fur. Great time!

My wife and I did these types of tours a few years ago. Afterward, we got into some pretty good dialog with the driver, who seemed like a pretty nice guy. He said there is a fair amount of BS in these tours, or extremely outdated made to sound current. He said he tried to be as accurate as he can, but said some companies/drivers look at the tourists as suckers.

I want to see a celebrity get into a disguise and take one of these tours that goes by their home... And so when it gets to their home, they hop out of the van without saying anything and just walk up, open the gate or door, and go in the house. 😂😂 I can't even imagine the faces on the people in the van, let alone the tour operator.

When we took a tour similar to this several years back we paid $5 for a map and drove around yourself. Most of the homes were deceased celebs like Lucille Ball. Find it hard to believe Brad Pitt would live in a home with no high walls, secured gates.

I took a couple of these tours in late 70s and early 80s when a lot of celebrities still lived here. Im so happy I was able to enjoy a bit of the golden years of Hollywood. Its so different now.

I have always wanted to take one of those tours! Thanks Adam!! i would say that most of those houses may have been owned one time by the celebrity, but are not their current residence. Anyway they have so many houses and move so often its hard to keep track. A lot of the celebrity homes can't been seen from the street as they have large hedges and fences.

You could be a tour guide. And a good one at that. You know a lot. - I love how the tour guide asked if there was a cop nearby cause they were starting the tour off with an illegal u turn. 😂. Cool little tour though. I would be one of those people that would love to see the mansions of some celebrities when I traveled out that way. Heck I just like looking at the different architectures of the mansions out there even if they weren’t a celebrity’s home.

Most celebrities buys houses in an LLC or a lawyers name as to remain anonymous so it's doubtful many of these are accurate. They're more than likely secondary homes bought as an investment. Many of the homes he showed have no gates, walls, and security guards so you know they celebs aren't living there. But it's fun to watch for sure!

Starline tours are pretty spot on. Being in the real estate biz back in the day I can attest that they had their info on homes pretty spot on (that's 10+ years ago). In fact the only flub I ever found was a tour guide's description of Aaron Spelling's house - that house has more than one entry driveway, and tour guide mistakenly stated one as the main drive, while in reality it was the other.

I’d love to see a comparison of companies that offer the same celebrity names and see if the houses match the celebrities they claim live there. 😂 I don’t believe for a second that these A list celebrities live in non-gated neighborhoods and have no fences around their houses.

You are correct. The first star they mention was J-Lo. She just bought a new home with Ben but she was living the last several years in a home in Bel Aire. It was not the house the guide claimed was hers. I dońt think any of the houses on the tour ever lived in the homes they claim. Will Smith has lived in a large estate above Calabasas for years. Again, not in the house on the tour that was supposed to be his. I am surprised Adam doesn’t tell us about the incorrect info on the tour. He said before the tour that the info may not be correct, but surely he knows the exact addresses of the big stars today. My friend has access to all of their real addresses as he has an entertainment business. Adam must have access to their real addresses as well. But most are not visible from the street. You can do a tour of where the stars lived in the 1950s snd 60s, as many of those homes still exist and are not behind gates.

He showed Mark Whalberg’s supposed house but that was definitely not the home of his that I have seen on his show Wahlburgers or in pictures of every article I have seen about him selling it because he sold his LA home months ago and moved to Las Vegas. That was definitely not his house unless it was second home which I doubt.

I feel for tourists because while this guy might be trying, for the price, I would have driven you around and shown you so much more. He passed on so much history and points that tourists would like to know. And of course, there are others that might be better. Also, as the person mentioned below, likely Brad Pitt would not be living in a small home like that not fully gated and barricaded. Similarly, as with Will Smith. Thank you for sharing this, Adam.

Also saw Ed Harris at a Deli in Malibu. We didn't bother him as he was sitting with friends at a table next to our large table. He left before we did and he waved to us from his truck. I think he was thanking us for not bothering him.

We did a stars home tour when we visited L.A in 1996,we saw a lot of famous peoples houses including Steven Speilberg's place and Arnold Swartzeniger's house. It was really great.We even saw David Hasselhoff's house which was the highlight of the tour for me as i am a huge fan of his.

Funny, once the bus toured on Sunset Boulevard, the tour guide was pretty silent of all the landmarks, such as the Whisky, Viper, Rainbow, Barney’s, London Fog and on and on. Or was it your editing to speed up the KZbin posting?

I know I’m probably stating the obvious, but if you’re going to take any tour you should really take a Charles Phoenix tour he guides one in Palm Springs and in Los Angeles/Hollywood. He’s entertaining funny super smart, knows the city well and he is one of the lesser known real stars of the whole LA scene.
