Hello from Le Roy....back to living here where I was born and was a member of the Le Roy Christian Church along with my Grandma Lola, (that was at the Christian Church "every Sunday") when your dad was here. Now back living in Le Roy after 20 years living in Branson, Mo. Just a side note: I am the one that painted the wall mural next to the church with the Selz Shoes. Wish I knew you was coming to Le Roy. Would have loved to seen and chatted with you both. Maybe next trip. Keep up the good work and blessings to the both of you for what you are doing. Safe travels.

However, I cannot begin to tell you how much I have enjoyed this current series with your Dad. I have genuinely been moved by your shared interactions and the loving experience of your entwined family years. i am late sixties now and my Dad was taken from us way too soon at 54 years old. I would have loved to had had such a travel experience with him had he lived his 'three score years and ten'. Thank you both for sharing those treasured personal memories. I would also have loved to have heard your Dad preach. He has an obvious good soul and his integrity is there for all to see. All good wishes and thanks to you both. Nice to see father and son spending time together, lost my dad 23 years ago and will always miss him.
@TheSWolfe3 жыл бұрын
It sure is. Same here - 23 yrs ago. I had Mississippi/Louisiana preachers on mom's side, Grandpa & the uncles - many a church service was attended over vacation. Still recall day Dad's bicycling instruction finally took; well, nearly. Fine-tuning always helps. Gravel? Not so much. No pics of act, just after fact. In our yard, I was straddling an old 50's adult bike when I lost balance, falling off & hitting the ground. One pic reveals a grimace: I know I'm going down, but can't stop momentum. Next is bike & I on the grass, me still gripping handlebars, grinning, embarrassed yet triumphant. Shortly prior to Dad's passing, we conducted a mini-road-trip w/my son of places we'd lived in/around town when I was growing up, when my dad was a youth, & when my son was pre-K age - taking a few pix, reminiscing on earlier, healthier times & hoping to leave more good memories for him to hold before his grandpa was gone. Final shot = sunset behind farm fence, son balanced on gate, pretending to hold back sun or balancing it in his hand. This would be our last time taking an extended country drive as fam together. S'why I enjoy 'Tube-tripping w/The Woos. I identify & appreciate the post & its sentiment.
