I had lunch with Colonel Sanders when I was in high school, about a year before he died. It was at a Boy Scouts summer camp, KFC donated the food, and Col. Sanders came out one afternoon to eat lunch with us. He sat at the end of my troop's table (there were several troops at the camp) and chatted with us. He was very a very kind and charitable man.

Im from Kentucky and my first job was at a KFC where the owner had the Colonel himself come train him when he first opened back in the day (sometime in 70s)...so I learned to cook chicken from someone who was trained by the colonel himself! As a born and raised Kentucky boy I'm rather proud of that one!

Hey Adam ! I first started following your blogs around early spring 2020 (during the early pandemic). You traveled through small town North East Texas on Hwy. 82. through a part of the state that I lived in for many years. You headed west on 82 towards the Muffler men and women and calf.Your adventure on today’s blog, filmed outside Chattanooga, where you saw a muffler man at the go-cart track, reminded me of that video. On a sequential blog you also traveled through a state where my dad was born an raised. I applaud you for the irreplaceable time on this earth that you are spending with your dad ! Thank you for sharing it with us.There was a lot of truth in the song by Harry Chapin, “Cats In The Cradle.” You have been blessed with a wonderful Dad ! Being a pastor and working hard at other side jobs to support a family, and then finding spare time to be with family can be difficult for one to balance. It also takes a great mom and wife. You are , “a chip off the old block,” just like Colonel Sanders. Your dad cracked that joke about the chain saw carving. I believe possibly like the majority of your viewers do, that we don’t want to see that (road ) “trip down memory lane,“ end, but more importantly we are happy for you and your dad. I am thankful that God blessed you with that time together.
