Great video build! Your skill in building is absolutely immense and having a workshop makes it so much easier. My custom build is also black MDF with lime green trim but not a patch on yours! It’s also fixed with pocket screws as well as biscuit joints to hold it together. I’ve always wanted to make another to refine the design of my control panel.

I discovered you channel recently as I'm in the process of building my own arcade cabinet. Great videos, I really enjoy your content. How did you cut the recesses for the trackball and joysticks at the bottom of the panel? Was that done with the shaper? It would be nice to see that part of your process. For now I only have a regular router and I'm wondering if I should make some jigs to get clean and straight edges like yours.
@TheDanielSpies_Arcades5 ай бұрын
I use a cnc machine or the Shaper but you can also make templates and use a normal router (or skip the recesses totally)

He is back!!!!! I enjoyed the woodworking as always, cant wait for the next part and see it all come together! Those new benches and tools sure made it even more professional looking, not to forget the brown work apron :D. there is nothing more annoying while your in the middle of work and you cant find the marker for example. Anyways great part 1! Groetjes!

I see that all players are getting 8 buttons. I believe that the success of Streets of Rage 4 and TMNT: Shredder's Revenge will help developers realize we need more games of this type. I believe the new TMNT uses 6 buttons, and the Start button, so 7 total. Good call in my opinion on giving more buttons than the 'standard' build.

Awesome work, love your video's Daniel. The craftsmanship (and your new Festool tool's) are great. I'm in the midst of a new build myself and you are providing a lot of great guidance to me. If I may ask, have you always used a CNC provider for your control panel routing or did you first try it yourself and decided to outsource? I was planning to do the routing of the top panel myself with pattern bits but I may look to a CNC shop for preciseness, thank you!

Daniel, why did you hammer in the brass inserts for the trackball pocket but then drilled them in for the Servoistik pockets? Were the inserts different for the Trackball vs the Servostillks? And are all the holes you drilled for the inserts the same for all accessories 6mm?
@TheDanielSpies_Arcades Жыл бұрын
The trackball comes with inserts that you hammer in. For the joysticks I prefer screw in inserts. M6 is generally okay indeed 👍🏼

I create the designs in Autodesk Fusion and send them to a CNC company. The wood itself is of course the most expensive, CNC is around 700 euro for a full size cab I believe.
@WimbledonWoodwork2 жыл бұрын
Time to get a yeti smart bench CNC! At around 7000 Eur it handles a full sheet of MDF. 10 builds and you have it paid for. Best of all it folds away when you don’t need it meaning your workshop stays clear!

@@WimbledonWoodwork which cnc for 7000 €?
@WimbledonWoodwork2 жыл бұрын
@@ipercade8495 trend yeti smartbench cnc - I have no affiliation just a happy customer. The killer for me was the fact it all collapses / folds up and so I can store it out the way in my workshop when not in use. Lots of people who have them make the comment that they pay for themselves in weeks. Yes there are better CNCs out there but not at that price point and certainly not ones that fold away (that I am aware of)
